Fatigue Definition
“Fatigue is a state of physical or mental tiredness and lack of energy, often
accompanied by feelings of weariness, exhaustion, or lethargy. It can result
from various factors such as prolonged physical exertion, mental stress, lack
of sleep, illness, or certain medical conditions. Fatigue can manifest in
different ways, including decreased motivation, difficulty concentrating,
irritability, muscle weakness, and impaired decision-making abilities. It can
have a significant impact on daily functioning, reducing productivity and
increasing the risk of accidents or errors. Managing fatigue typically involves
addressing its underlying causes, such as improving sleep habits, managing
stress, maintaining a balanced diet, and engaging in regular physical activity.”

Sleepiness Definition
“Sleepiness is a natural physiological state characterized by a
strong desire or need to sleep. It is the feeling of drowsiness
or the inclination to fall asleep. Sleepiness can be caused by
various factors, including insufficient or poor-quality sleep,
disruptions to the body's circadian rhythm (the internal body
clock that regulates sleep-wake cycles), certain medications,
medical conditions such as sleep disorders or sleep apnea,
and lifestyle factors such as excessive alcohol consumption or
shift work.”
