Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Student Start-up and Innovation (SSIP)

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at GECV has achieved a significant accomplishment by receiving a 3.5-star rating in the
IIC-2021-22 ranking, placing them among the top 10 Government and Grant-in-Aid Institutes in the Gujarat zone. This
achievement was made possible by the well-planned and organized activities conducted by IIC in accordance with the schedule
provided by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Dr. V. S. Purani, the Head of the Institute, congratulated the IIC President, Dr. Rajesh Malan, Convener Prof. Rahul Prajapti, SSIP
coordinator Dr. Kashyap Mokariya, and the entire team of IIC-SSIP for their national-level achievement. The IIC-GECV aims to
enhance students' skill development beyond the curriculum, preparing them for new career opportunities in the fields of
innovation, start-ups, and entrepreneurship. Two new faculty members, Prof. Jinal Patel and Dr. Yogendra Tandel, have joined

Various events and activities have been organized by IIC-GECV to provide a platform for holistic student development, making them self-sufficient through technical skill development.
Under the IIC, several programs have been organized at the institute. The IIC-SSIP also organized a workshop on "Entrepreneurship as a career opportunity in the field of Opto-
electronic semiconductor technology," on 25th Nov, 2022, which was funded by RUSA-GECV and coordinated by Dr. Rajesh Malan and Prof. Rahul Prajapati. The talk was delivered
by Mr. Sanjay Godvani, L. R. Electro Rajkot. L. R. Electro is the leading manufacturing brand of various types of LED lights. The institute also arranged a session by Dr. Vivekananda D.,

NSS and Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav

The NSS team of the Government Engineering College in Valsad celebrated India's 75th Independence Day by organizing various events under the banner Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
The events focused on promoting social awareness, teamwork, and leadership skills among the students. The college organized a Garba Night celebration on October 1, 2022, which
saw the participation of 425 students, and a Thalassemia, Eyes, and Dental Check-up Camp on October 7, 2022, which was attended by 463 students.

The college celebrated National Unity Day from October 28 to October 31, 2022, and a pledge-taking ceremony was held on October 28, 2022, which was attended by 72 faculty and
staff members. The NSS team of the college also organized a Letter Writing Movement and a Slogan-Making Event from November 9, 2022, to encourage voting awareness for the
upcoming Gujarat State Election of 2022, with 9 students participating in the slogan-making event and 17 students participating in the Letter Writing Movement.

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Celebration, a Constitution Day celebration was organized at the G-120 Seminar Hall, Department of Civil Engineering. The seminar was
attended by 153 students, and 51 students participated in the online preamble reading competition, and 51 students participated in the online quiz. Overall, the events were
successful in promoting leadership and teamwork skills among students, as well as social awareness, unity, and the celebration of India's independence.

Industrial Visit:

1. The IICHE Student Chapter (for Chemical Engineering Dept.) organized visits to three industries for Chemical Engineering students. The industries visited were the Common
Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), Fine Hydrochem Pvt Ltd, and Industrial Boiler Ltd, all located in Vapi on 4/10/2022. During the visit to CETP, students were introduced to the
process of effluent treatment used in various industries in Vapi. They also had the opportunity to observe different unit operations and unit processes at Fine Hydrochem Pvt
Ltd. Finally, the students visited the large-scale boiler units at Industrial Boiler Ltd.

2. The Department of Civil Engineering organized technical visits to the Sardar Sarovar dam site on 6/10/2022, where 117 civil engineering students from 5th and 7th semesters
had the opportunity to gain practical insights into the workings of a dam. The students were able to observe the actual structures and understand the various design
considerations involved in constructing a dam, thanks to the technical staff's detailed explanation. The visit was informative and beneficial for the students, helping them to
relate their classroom learning to real-life applications. Faculties who have also joined the visit are: Prof. Priyanka S. Patel, Prof. Neha M. Patel, Prof. Soham H. Mistry and Prof.
Abhishek H. Rana.

3. The Department of Civil Engineering organized technical visits to Valsad railway station on 18/10/2022, where 61 students from the 5th semester learned about the various
aspects of railway engineering, including track construction, signaling mechanisms, and controlling systems. The visit included sections such as Loco shed, Railway track,
Platform, Yard, and Signal controlling tower. The faculty members, Prof. Dhaval T. Barot and Prof. Abhishek H. Rana, shared their knowledge and expertise with the students,
giving them valuable insights into the world of railway engineering.

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Hackathon 2022 - Regional Round


The Mechanical, Chemical and Environmental dept. sent total 20 teams to participate in the regional round of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Hackathon-2022. The event was held at
AURO University, Surat on 7th and 8th October 2022. The teams were given their selected problem statements and worked continuously for 36 hours during the two days. The
teams performed exceptionally well, and their group leaders and members answered all the questions asked by the jury.

The hard work and dedication of the students paid off, as 02 teams from the Mechanical, 03 teams from the Chemical and 01 team from the Environmental dept. were selected
for the final round. The achievement is a source of pride for the department and reflects the talent and skills of the students and their faculty mentors.

कर रहा था ईश्वर को धन्यवाद, अच्छा ररजल्ट आने के लिए , धीरे से खु द को कहा "अगर लमि न पाए तो यादोां में ही जीिेंगे"।। आज भी अपने गाां व की याद आती है, नीांद में भी सताती है ;

मुझे क्या पता था ये पैगाम है, अपनो से दू र जाने के लिए ।। लजस िड़की से प्यार लकया, लजसको हर साां स में लजया , लजतनी कोलशश करू
ां भूिने की, उतना ज्यादा रुिाती है ।।

पररवार को समझाया, सबको मनाया, उनसे दू र जाने के लिए ; उसको अपने लदि की बात कहे लबना ही चि लदया ।। लिर भी नही छोड़ सकता साथ, इस बेरूखी लजांदगी का ;

सोचा न था की कभी पढाई छु ड़वाएगी घर , घर चिाने के लिए ।। दे खते ही दे खते स्कूि का मीठा शोर छूट गया ; क्योांलक यही सहारा है मेरे उज्जवि भलवष्य का ।।

माां ने खु द को सांभािते हुए, लपता ने हौसिा बढाते हुए, पता ही नही चिा कब बचपन का वो दौर छूट गया ।। हकीकत से अनजान नही हां , सपनो में जीनेवािा इां सान नही हां ;

उन्ोांने मुझको खु द से दू र भेजा, छु पकर आां सू लगराते हुए ।। अब शहर में आके बस गया और यही का मैं हो गया ; लिर भी मन मेरा सोचे .......

जाने से पहिे दोस्तो से लमिा , उनसे बातें कर मन हल्का लकया ; लजांदगी की भागदौड़ में जैसे मैं खु द ही खु द से खो गया ।। काश वो पि लिर से आए , वो वक्त खु द को दोहराएां ;

लिर हर छु लियोां लमिने का (जूठा ही सही ,) एक वादा लकया ।। माां की रोटी छूट गई, मीठी नीांद जैसे टू ट गई ; हम सब लमिकर लिर से वही मासूम बच्चे बन जाए ।।

मैने सब दोस्तो को गिे िगाकर कहा "लिर लमिेंगे" , होटि के पकवानोां से तो जैसे मेरी भूख ही रूठ गई ।।
