CSC 413: Mini Projects Assessment (20%)

For Mini Projects Assessment (MPA), students are required to form a group of 4@5 members. Each
group is required to find one project topic that relates to the theme set for that semester.

Theme for Oct – Feb 2024: Nature-based and Heritage tourism


Each group needs to develop a project for a different state in Malaysia

MINI PROJECT: (20%)


1. Project Storyboard (5%)
2. Project (10%)
3. Video Presentation (5%)

1. Project Storyboard (5%)

Students are required to prepare a project storyboard according to the theme given. The
storyboard can be in hand written format or computer-generated (Microsoft PowerPoint/word).

*please include important information (group members’ name, matrix num, company/ group name,
group and date of submission) on your project storyboard cover.

2. Project (10%)

Students are required to prepare a main project according to your storyboard previously. The main
project must follow the guidelines as stated below:

1. Project type: Video and Interactive Project


2. Project Content: Video Montage as the introduction of your main project, animation that
matches with the theme etc.
3. Software: Any multimedia software (Adobe Animate etc)

3. Video Presentation (5%)

Students are required to create a video to present and demonstrate the project that they
developed using Adobe Animate in detail as planned in the storyboard and project previously. All
group members MUST be in a video and do the presentation.

GROUP ASSIGNMENT (Audio, video, animation and authoring) 20%


Title: Nature-base and Heritage tourism

Your group is required to create a group profile base on the following requirements:

Authoring tool : Adobe Flash / Animate CC


Action script : AS 2.0 or AS 3.0
Background : Attractive color/image/interface
Elements used : Text, graphic, audio, animation, video
Symbol used : Movie clips, buttons

Your proposed timeline and pages should be like this as a guide:

In order to accomplish this task, your group is required to prepare:

a) video – short video regarding theme that you choose.


Video is becoming more and more affordable and widespread. Video adoption grows partly
because advances in technology but also because it’s easy to spread across the globe.
Making videos requires creativity and knowledge of human psychology. Creative video can
be spread on the Internet in a matter of days, getting millions of views. And this is the whole
point of video: the only creative survive!
Your group is required to produce a video about selected theme as agreed before in your
storyboard. Language is your matter of choice.
Please consider this minimum requirement:
Length : less than a minute
Content/organization: clear statement of purpose or theme
Video continuity : Video moves smoothly from shot to shot, a variety of transitions are
used to assist in communicating the main idea
Audio editing : audio is clear and effectively assists. Record separately if the many
ambient sounds
Camera technique : All shots are clearly focused and well framed. Landscape shooting
most advisable.
Lighting : All scenes have sufficient lighting for viewer
Timing : Video clips show no slack time
You may use background music or attention-grabbing sound effects downloaded from the
internet to include into your project. Narration/voice over can be in any languages.

b) animation – short animated group logo and animation for selected theme

Your logo is one of your most important brand assets. It makes you recognizable and it’s the
first thing people see when they encounter your brand. It’s also one of your most used assets
in marketing/communication, whether it’s on your website, your social media profiles, group
memos and official stationery, product packaging, or anything else related to your group.

Your group is required to spice up your animated multimedia: text, graphic, audio and apply
animation effect as well. It will make your entire brand comes to life through motion, sound,
and color.

There are a few things you need to include in this animation to make sure that it is as
effective as possible:
You may use background music or attention-grabbing sound effects downloaded from the
internet to include into your animation. Narration/voice over can be in any languages.

Method of delivery

Please make sure raw file (eg: _____.fla) and executable file (eg: ____.exe or ____.swf) are
included.
List your group member’s name and UiTM ID in TXT file.
Any related file for audio, video and animation
Please make sure a proper folder has been labeled too.

Placed all the files in your Google Drive and share a link.

Grading:

Outstanding group profile/portfolio is graded according to: originality of work, creativity used
to grab the attention of the viewer, delivery of information - clearly and efficiently, and
techniques used in authoring. No broken link.
