Student survey shows that some students believe there is no problem with texting whilst
driving.

serious problem very close to home. We must resolve this issue in hopes of paving the way to
safer roads not only in Virginia but also in the United States as a whole.
Problems
Automobile accidents.
o One out of every four car-accidents in the United States is caused by texting and
driving.
May lead to the slowing down of traffic due to drivers not paying attention green lights
when reading or writing a text message.
The driver and the victim may become grievously injured.
o Nearly 330,000 injuries occur each year from accidents caused by texting while
driving.
The driver has a potential property damage.
Possible Solutions
Put your phone on silent.
Phone jammers in the car.
Do not text in the car.
o Of all cell phone related tasks, texting is by far the most dangerous activity.
Put your phone in a secure area that you cannot access whilst driving.
If it is an important conversation the driver can call the other individual instead.
