Lecture1: Singular Plurals
Recap/Refresh your knowledge:

Main Lesson/Development:
(20 minutes)

 Teacher will tell students Naming wordss can be either singular or plural.
 Teacher will tell students mostly nouns are made plural by adding ‘s’ at end. Like birds, camels,
dolls etc.
 Activity: Change the number:
 Teacher will divide class into pairs.
 Each pair should start with a deck of cards. Every card should have a naming word (in written
form or picture form).
 One student flips a card up, says the naming word and also tells either it’s a singular or plural
naming word.
 The other student in the pair will change the number of naming word.
 Teacher will ask students to open book page57 and solve Q4 on notebook.
Practice/Worksheet:

Teacher will tell students to do Q#4 on page57. Teacher will distribute worksheet for practice.

Homework/links: For homework, students will write Wrap-up:

 I , you, he, she, it are singular substitution words and we, you, they are plural substitution words.
 Activity: Use the substitution words:
 Teacher will divide class in groups.
 Teacher will write on board the substitution words: I, We, You, He, She, It and They
 Now teacher will keep writing a sentence on boar a sentence containing a naming word.
 Each student will replace the naming word in sentence with a substitution word.
 Teacher will give points for correct use of substitution words.

Main Lesson/Development:
(20 minutes)

 Teacher will tell students: each letter or English alphabet have a different sound and when two letters
come together and give another new sound is Digraph or A digraph is a combination of two letters
having one sound. For example, ch, th, ph, sh etc.
 Teacher will tell students a diagraph is a group of two successive letters that give a single sound.
Like ch(watch), ph(phone), sh(shoes), th( then) etc.
 Teacher will ask students to open book page 56 look at examples and solve Q3.
Activity: Give each child in the class a digraph word and explain the game. When you give a start signal,
all students will pair up with a partner and then call out the digraph and its letters in the word. Check the
pairs' words to ensure the words contain their digraphs, and, if so, send the pairs to the front of the room.
Cheer for the digraphs! Give the start signal again so children can remix themselves into new partnerships
and call out different words. Remember to use plenty of variety to cover all the digraphs you have given
out.
Practice/Worksheet: Teacher will tell students to do Q#3 on page56. Teacher will distribute worksheet for
practice. (10 minutes)
