ABSTRACT

This report explores the role of Construction Management Software (CMS) in


project scheduling. Traditional methods, like spreadsheets and paper calendars,
often fall short in handling the complexities of modern construction. CMS offers
functionalities such as task breakdown, scheduling techniques, resource
management, collaboration tools, risk management, and reporting & analytics.
These functionalities improve efficiency, enhance accuracy, increase visibility,
reduce costs, and improve collaboration within project teams. Several popular
CMS options with strong scheduling functionalities are explored including
Procore, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project. The
ideal CMS for a project depends on factors like project size, complexity, budget,
