Question # 1.
Find a tool to create a own cloud or find a simulator where you can create a cloud environment.

For creating my own cloud I have used following tools:

1. VM Virtual Box : it’s a virtualization host, I have used it host my ownCloud Appliance
Package
2. ownCloud Server (Appliance): It is a ready made package for non-tech users to get the
server up and running

Question # 2:
Create your OWN cloud, your cloud should contain unique name, like “TIGER CLOUD”. Tiger cloud
contain some of those services which you have study in assignment 1, where cloud providers provide
services to the clients, Tiger cloud will be access from home / office or anywhere, where it can be do any
changes like DOWNLOAD, DELETE, ADD, and UPDATE files.

In order to get ownCloud Server up and running first download the file from the above mentioned link
then follow these steps:

Step 1:

Import the file into the VM Virtual Box:

After importing set setting according to your own need like ram, storage, name of the machine
(MCLoud) in my case.

Step # 2:
After some time your file will be imported and this interface will show up:

Enter the details in the field, like Karachi, New York etc. This will lead you to the next interface
from where you can setup keyboard layout.

Step # 3:
Now comes the important part, which is assigning IP for this machine this will be used later for
accessing files and storage, user can either select dynamic IP or Static IP

Keep selecting the first option and hit next.

Step # 4:
Fill in with details.

Set your domain name.

Then this screen will pop up, just hit next.

After that you will be mailed with a verification file which you can upload to access the cloud:

Login username will be by default administrato.

Here you can see I’m easily able to access my files Upload them and make changes to their
name etc

Rename and Download them into my Computer or any other device.

Services offered by ownCloud (MCloud):

1. Unlimited Storage for Administrator and users
2. It will provide security features also like password hashing, encryption and decryption of files,
tokens and other anitivirus applications
3. It also provides user weather application and calender on demand
4. User will be able share, update, delete and upload files.
5. There is a complete user management panel where any user can manage their profiles
