Tell us about yourself

First of all, I wanted to express my gratitude for giving me this opportunity to be
interviewed for your scholarship program. My names is Britney Shin Alombro Tero. I am
18 years old. I am the eldest of Marilou A. Tero and Henry G. Tero. My father passed
away when I was 9 years old. I have a younger brother who is also entering College.
We both graduated senior high school from MCPI last May 26. I took up ABM as my
strand and was able to receive a with high honor award among 450 graduates in our
batch.
Growing up, I’ve build a reputation of being the golden child of my family because of my
personal achievements in school. I was always on the honors list. But one thing that
they don’t know is that I’m not really smart and confident. I aced my grades in exchange
of time, effort, discipline, and a leap of faith. In fact, I am very shy, introverted, and just
an average.
How can a shy, introvert, and average student become a golden child, a beauty pageant
candidate, and achiever. It is because I have dreams that I want to achieve for myself,
my family, and for other people. Despite those qualities, I’ve came to manage my
shyness, strengthen my faith in myself, and have courage. I’m a goal-oriented person.
My goals what drives me and push me to place where I am now and I aspire to be.
Outside of my study, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Conversations
with my mom. I don’t have much friends but what I have are the truest ones. I’m also
fond of reading fictional books, mostly on the romance genre. My hobbies are singing,
watching movies, listening to music. I also enjoy various physical pursuits.
Growing up as the daughter of a small business owner, I have been immersed in the
practical world of business from a young age. This firsthand experience has provided
me with a valuable skill: the ability to manage finances prudently. It was through this
exposure that I developed a deep interest in finance and accounting. Pursuing
accounting not only aligns with my practical nature but also ignites my passion for the
field. major goals include becoming an Accountant and establishing my own firm.
Additionally, I aspire to become a real estate owner, acquiring investments in real estate
lands and multiple properties. I believe that ensuring financial stability is crucial for
survival in this world. By becoming a Realtor, I can not only fulfill my personal dreams
but also provide my loved ones, especially my family, with a quality living and a sense of
financial security for a sustainable future.
2. Why us? Why this course?
I will never forget the moment my heart desired for Ateneo. I was grade 8 when I saw a
public post on Facebook. It was a graduation pictorial of the BSA batch back in 2018.
And I read the caption that says all of those students graduated with latin honor. One
magna cum laude and the rest were cum laudes. That post inspired me so much that I
even told my mom about it since she also was a BSA graduate.
In addition, from what I have heard and from my further research, Ateneo is one of the
best schools here in Davao City. The quality of education, the teachers, the facility, the
community itself are something I want to experience and be my companions as I take
up my college journey.

That time, I’m already contemplating of taking BSA since it fits of my interests and all
my life, I was somehow introduced and engaged with business and finance since we
own a sari-sari store. Tha
3. What are your extracurricular?
Back in elementary, I became the president of the student pupil government. There I
have attended to several seminars about student leadership within Panabo City. I
was an active volleyball player back then. I was the captain ball of our team. I was
supposed to be trained professionally because they’ve seen the potential in me,
In high school, I’ve been part of several organizations or clubs within the school. My
academic club has always been math club until my senior high. However, I have not
played much sports and not been part of any positions of any organizations. But I do
possess student leadership skills since I have an experience and I mostly used it
within school premises or any situation.
In senior high school, I got to participated to a lot of extracurricular. Grade 11

commissioner, work immersion, bb Panabo, campus journalism
4. What is your advocacy?
5. Who inspires?
My inspiration will always be my mother. She is the person I aspire to be. No matter
how tough life has been to her, she remained kind, pure, strong, compassionate,
and devoted to God. If people just knew what lengths she took for the sake of us,
how good of a mother she is to her children. Although, she is single
6. What are your strength# and weaknesses?
My strengths include being a perfectionist. I always wanted my performance or tasks
to be as best as it can be. It helped me or even encourage people to produce high-
quality work or performance. But despite this, I also went through failures that I
wholeheartedly accept and take lessons from. I’m also a good listener and a critical
thinker. I always listen to what a person has to say on a certain matter and
thoroughly weigh every facts, information, and details and from that, it helps me
produce fair and good judgement as well.
Another strength that I have is I’m a fast learner. I am confident that I am capable of
easily absorbing the teachings and skills that are being taught. I enjoy learning new
skills and information that I apply to work and would also help me shape I to a better
individual. Another is that I’m a positive and determined person. Despite how
hopeless situation I am at, I try to remain steadfast and hopeful. That’s why I could
describe myself as hopelessly hopeful.

Often times, I tend to struggle with organization. Although, it doesn’t really affect my
academic performance, I could observe that my cluttered space may somehow
affect my efficiency. However, I’m continually working on my organization skills by
cleaning and tidying up my space.
Also, I’m a very sensitive person.

I gave my full time, effort, my very best for this scholarship. From those failed
chances, it has led me to this great opportunity. I believe it is my hope. And that this
scholarship that would bridge me to achieving my dreams and goals for my life, for
my career. And I understand I could achieve those if I apply for this scholarship and
work hard through the course of my journey.
I have a strong academic record, I am determined and highly motivated, and I am
passionate on learning. I worked hard for my grades and been involved to several
extracurricular activities.
If I will be granted of your scholarship, it would be of great help to me as I pursue my
tertiary education snd to support my academic needs. I will be 100% committed to
