Structure of Tcodes -

================

Although not a TCode can be more than 4 characters - until Version 4.0 - SAP TCodes were of
Four Characters ONLY, the structure of them has not changed.

Here is the significance of First FOUR Characters.

First Character - Signifies the MODULE.

Second Character - Signified Sub-Module within the Module.
Third and Fourth - Normally a Number for Transactions and Master Data.
Signifies :
01 - Create
02 - Change
03 - Display

For Example - MM01 - M = Materials Management Module.( MM Module )

M = Material Master 01=Create.

VA01 - V=SD Module.

A=Sales Order
01=Create.

Also Pretty MUCH all the Technical Object -

Tables, Programs, Transactions FOLLOW the MODULE Based Naming Standard.

Meaning All FI Table will start with F and

All Materials Table will Start with M.
Here is the List of MODULE Codes for your Reference.
