DUE DATE: 29th April, 2024 MARKS: 10


Read the examples given below and answer the questions. (2.5 marks each)

a) Iqbal and Momin entered into an agreement that if Team Red beats Team Blue, Iqbal
will give an amount of Rs.5,000 to Momin. In case, Team Blue wins, Momin will give
Rs. 5,000 to Iqbal. Identify the type of agreement between Iqbal and Momin and state
whether the contract is a valid or a void contract.

b) A agrees to sell to B 10 kgs of rice for Rs.10,000. However, there was a huge flood in
the states and all the rice crops were destroyed. State whether the contract can be
performed or not. Also mention the legal status of this contract.

c) Murtaza told Malika, his wife, that he would divorce her, if she does not transfer her
personal assets to him. She agreed to transfer her assets to him. Can Malika avoid the
contract? Justify your answer (yes/no) with reason(s).

d) A pressurizes B to sell his new bungalow to him at a nominal price, otherwise, he will
damage his property. B enters into the contract due to fear. State the legal status of
the contract.
