Journey to Self-discovery

Career Planning Program Stage 2, Phase 3

STAGE 2 PHASE 3: JOURNEY TO SELF-DISCOVERY

INTRODUCTION
Deciding on a career path is a process that will greatly affect your future. Thus, you will need to be
careful and consider different factors before making your final decision. One of these important factors
is understanding who you are and how it affects your career decision-making process.

As part of the Career Planning Program, this phase was designed to help you further explore your own
interests, strengths, skills, values, and preferences. It is comprised of different activities that aim to
assist you in considering your options to prepare for educational and lifestyle decisions. These will also
be a part of your discussion with your Career Facilitator in the succeeding stage of the program - Stage
3: Understanding My Path.

We hope that after accomplishing these activities, you would be able to:
 provide a general description of who you are relevant to your career options;
 list down the factors that affect their career-decision making process;
 research further on possible careers that you are interested in; and
 rank your career options based on your preference to pursue them after graduating Senior High
School.

Just a few reminders while going through the activities:

 Follow the directions and/or instructions diligently.
 Take your time in answering the activities but do complete all of them before your scheduled
Career Planning Consultation with your Career Facilitator. This will be set during the 1 st quarter
of your Grade 12.

Before you start accomplishing the activities, go through your My Career Plan Online Application
(MCPOA) results and rank the career options based on your current level of preference:

Note: If you are more interested in a career option that is not included in your MCPOA, you may choose to replace
any of the two (2) career options that are not based on your personality type.

Once accomplished, you may start accomplishing the activities in the succeeding pages.

Do enjoy your journey!

POINTS TO PONDER:
 Your My Career Plan Online Application (MCPOA) results provides a glimpse of your personality
type based on your interests. It also provided a general description the work environment that
you are compatible with and the activities that you may prefer not to be involved in.
 The more you know about yourself (your interests, thought process, values, characteristics, and
preferences), the better equipped that you will be to determine the career path that is most
compatible with you. With this, you are also able to determine the knowledge, skills, and
abilities that you need to strengthen and/or improve on based on your career option.
 Having career options will make it easier for you to identify college programs and schools that
can provide you with the right set of knowledge and experience for your future
occupation/profession/job.
 Do not be discouraged if you have not immediately decided on a career path. Part of
understanding yourself is understanding the challenges that will make it harder for you to
decide. By doing so, you will then be able to focus on identifying ways to address these
challenges.
