PREQUALIFICATION OF THE FACTORY

T. Nagadi Preformed Concrete Factory (Group of Factories) is one of the


Largest CONCRETE PRODUCTS manufacturing factories in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. This is a 100% Saudi Factory owned by Sheikh Tarik Nagadi. The Factory
was founded on 12th of October 1976 by His Royal Highness Prince Mamdouh Bin
Saud and Nagadi Preformed Concrete Co. took over the business on 3 rd May,
1979.*The Chairman of T. Nagadi P.C.F. Mr. T. Nagadi purchased on 3/14/1419H
(1998) and it is now under the sole proprietorship of Mr. Tarik Nagadi.

T. Nagadi Factory has been licensed under the Saudi Arabian National
Industries Protection and Encouragement regulation. The Saudi Arabian Commercial
Registration Nos. are 1010152408 / 4700006291/ 1010152409 / 4700001860 and the
Industrial License No.379 & 385 dated 3/4/1419H. We are fully equipped with the
System of Automatic Concrete Production Plants and supporting facilities as listed
below, also with highly qualified and experienced professional management &
employees:

Qualified and experienced technicians are ensuring the smooth running of these
machineries with high quality of concrete output. All products are steam cured and
made in accordance with the Saudi Arabian and International Standards. T. Nagadi
Factories has been awarded with ISO 9001certification since 2002 and it is being
improved & maintained till now, keeping up the proper system implemented in the
day to day activities maintaining the quality of products.
Our experience since 1979 in the field of Concrete Technology and servicing for
hundreds of satisfied customers made us to stand in the top among the industry.
We have established our own Transportation Division to cater the market demands for
our products. The production of HDPE liner is expected shortly to become
independent for the raw materials we require in our production. Hollow core plant is
under the installation stage, and expected to be in production shortly.

T NAGADI FACTORY manufacture, R. C. Pipes from ID 300mm up to ID 3600mm


in compliance with International Standards, Jacking Pipes for the micro tunneling,
meeting the required strength and properties meeting the jacking forces applicable.
Our biggest cage making machine can produce Pipe Cages / Culvert Cages up to
5000mm diameter.
T. Nagadi industrial complex spread over an area of 160,000 m² is in the final stage,
which includes HDPE plant and modern textile factory, in addition to precast plants.
Our factories are in Riyadh, Yanbu, Al Kharj and Tabouk and apart from our factory
offices, we have sales office in Jeddah and Jizan.

QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES /
REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPES
SCOPE

This procedure is concerned with reinforced concrete pipes, used for sewage, water and
others,in accordance with ASTM C 76 and the relevant Standards.

1. MATERIALS

2.1. Prior to production, all materials have to be tested and approved.


2.2. Materials for the manufacturing of reinforced concrete pipes shall be conform
the following standards ;
Cement Type V ASTM C 150
Fine Aggregate ASTM C 33
Coarse Aggregate ASTM C 33
Water ASTM C 94
Admixtures ASTM C 494
Reinforcement Steel ASTM A 497/ASTM A615

3. MACHINES AND MOULD EQUIPMENT

3.1. Machines have to be maintained in good and reliable condition.


3.2. Machine and mould equipment shall be aligned properly
3.3. The mould equipment shall be clean, and mould oil shall be applied.
3.4. Inspection shall be made prior to each usage, to assure smooth surfaces.

4. PROPORTIONING AND MIX DESIGNS.

4.1. The QC Engineer, as specified in ACI 318 shall prepare mix designs.
4.2. No changes shall be made without approval of the QC Engineer.
4.3. The concrete shall be tested according the related standards.

5. PRODUCTION

5.1 The production process shall be in accordance to “Production Process” below.

Brief description of Production Process hereunder;

5.1.1 Set machine in starting position


5.1.2 Place pallet ring
5.1.3 Oil pallet ring
5.1.4 Place reinforcement on oiled pallet ring
5.1.5 Place concrete spacer at designated points
5.1.6 Lower outer mould over pallet ring with reinforcement
5.1.7 Place concrete feeding belt above mould, and start filling concrete
5.1.8 Start vibration
5.1.9 When mould is filled, draw back concrete feeding belt
5.1.10 Continue vibrations until concrete is compacted
5.1.11 Form spigot
5.1.12 Demould pipe
5.1.13 Place inner and outer set ring
5.1.14 Transport pipe to curing area
5.1.15 Continuous water spraying for the first two hours
5.1.16 Steam curing of pipe
5.1.17 Transport pipe to stock yard
5.1.18 Water curing for two weeks ( Sprinklers )
5.1.19 Apply coating if coating required by client
5.2 Curing of precast units shall be low-pressure steam by steam vapor, by radiant heat and
moisture, or other method which accelerates the concrete hardening, in order to reduce
curing time.
5.2.1 Initial delay period to steaming, at least 2 hours, to allow the initial hardening
(setting) of the concrete.
5.2.2 Increase the temperature during a period of 2 to 2.5 hours. The steam
temperature shall not reach 80 degrees Celsius, and above, as this may result in
reduction of ultimate strength. As much as possible, the temperature shall be
maintained at 65 degrees Celsius. The temperature should not increase by more
than 20 degrees Celsius per hour.
5.2.3 Minumum advisable duration of steam curing under a constant temperature of
65 degrees Celsius shall be 6 to 8 hours.
5.2.4 Temperature decrease during 2 hours, shall not be more than 20 degrees Celsius
per hour, until the temperature reach the range of 10 degrees Celsius compared
to the outside temperature.

6 MARKING

Every pipe shall be marked on the exterior of the pipe by the following;

6.1 The manufacturer’s name, or his trade mark or both.


6.2 The production date.
6.3 The pipe diameter
6.4 The class of pipe

7 TESTING AND INSPECTION

7.1 Testing, sampling

7.1.1 The consignment shall be devided into groups of 150 nos., having the same
class, and size, the remaining part shall be considered a separate group.
7.1.2 Three numbers of pipes shall be selected at random from each group.
7.1.3 Methods of tests according ASTM C76 shall be performed

7.2 Appearance Test


The pipes shall be visually inspected. The surface shall be smooth, free of local dents,
bulges, cracks and other visible defects.

7.3 Measuring of Dimensions


7.3.1 The following dimensions shall be measured, socket, spigot, internal dimension,
wall thickness and length. The measurements shall be registered in the “Pipe
Production, Dimensional Checking”form, and have to be within the tolerances
given in the “Standard Pipe Measurements” list.
7.3.2 Compression of rubber sealing ring shall be calculated from measuring results
of socket and spigot.
7.3.3 Measurement of reinforcement cover shall be executed 1:150 pipes. The
measurement shall be registered in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional
Checking”form, under the item Remarks.

7.4 Straightness Test


Straightness test shall conformed according ASTM C76 tolerances. The result shall be
registered in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional Checking”form, under the item
Remarks

7.5 Water Absorption Test

Water Absorption test shall be executed, according ASTM C497. The result shall be
registered in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional Checking”form, under the item
Remarks

7.6 External Load Test

External Load test shall be executed, according ASTM C497. The result shall be
registered in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional Checking”form, under the item
Remarks

7.7 Hydrostatic Test

Hydrostatic test shall be executed, according ASTM C497. The result shall be
registered in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional Checking”form, under the item
Remarks

8 CRITERION FOR TECHNICAL CONFORMITY

8.1 Each consignment shall be accompanied with the certificate, indicating its compliance with
the standard
8.2 The consignment shall be considered complying with the standard, if the sample pass all
the tests.
8.3 If one sample or more do not pass, one or more tests, the test / tests shall be repeated on
another sample, double the number of the first sample. If all the units of the second sample
pass the repeated test, the sample shall be considered complying with the standard, and non
complying otherwise.

12 TRANSPORT AND DELIVERY

Before Delivery, the pipes shall undergo final inspection from the Quality Control Department.
Approval for delivery shall be in writing to the Transport Department or a Quality Control
Checked Tag fixed to pipe before shipment.

This procedure is concerned with reinforced concrete manholes, used for sewage, water and
others.

2. MATERIALS

2.1. Prior to production, all materials have to be tested and approved.

5. PRODUCTION

5.1 All precast concrete units shall be fabricated in accordance with the requirements
and recommendation of PCI MNL 116.
5.2 Concrete placement shall be performed in accordance with the section for cast in
place concrete in addition to the following;
5.2.1 Inspection prior to concrete placement is the sole responsibility of
the QC Engineer.
5.2.2 Concrete shall be thoroughly consolidated in the form by
sufficient vibration, and shall be carried out, so that it not
dislocate or damage the reinforcement and built-in or embedded
items.
5.2.3 Curing of precast units shall be low-pressure steam by steam
vapor, radiant heat and moisture, or other method which
accelerates the concrete hardening, in order to reduce curing time.
5.2.3.1 Initial delay period to steaming, at least 2 hours, to
allow the initial hardening (setting) of the concrete.
5.2.3.2 Increase the temperature during a period of 2 to 2.5
hours. The steam temperature shall not reach 80
degrees Celsius, and above, as this may result in

Brief description of Production Process hereunder;

5.3.1 Install the outer mould, check alignment and apply oil
5.3.2 Place reinforcements,embedded parts and secure
5.3.3 Install inner mould. Careful if with PVE lining
5.3.4 Pour concrete and vibrate until completion
5.3.5 Place the top pressing cap to form the joint
5.3.6 Remove mould and start steam curing
5.3.7 Apply water curing and transport to stock area
5.3.8 Apply bitucure and epoxy coating if needed

6. MARKING

Every manhole shall be marked on the exterior of each unit by the following;

6.1 The manufacturer’s name, or his trade mark or both.


6.2 The production date.
6.3 The manhole number
6.4 Quality Control Checked Tag

7. TESTING AND INSPECTION


7.1 Inspection and Testing of precast units shall be in accordance with PCI MNL 116,
and the methods outlined in this testing and inspection program
7.1.1 Cube Testing/ Cylinder Testing
Each day 6 cubes test shall be produced for compression test after
3,7 and 28 days. The result shall be registered in the form
“Concrete Cube Testing “.

7.2 Appearance Inspection


The manhole shall be visually inspected. The surface shall be smooth,
free of local dents, bulges, cracks and other visible defects.
7.3 Measuring of Dimensions
The manholes shall be checked for compliance with the designated
drawings.
7.4 Copies of test reports, and certification of materials shall be available for
the Client at his request.
7.5 If required, the Client shall employ an independent testing laboratory ( at his own
expenses) to perform additional test.
8. CRITERION FOR TECHNICAL CONFORMITY

8.1 Each consignment shall be accompanied with the certificate, indicating its
compliance with the Standard
8.2 Any manhole or manhole unit, not fulfilling the appearance and
dimensional test shall be rejected.

12 TRANSPORT AND DELIVERY

Before Delivery, each manhole shall undergo final inspection from the Quality Control
Department. Approval for delivery shall be in writing to the Transport Department or a Quality
Control Checked Tag shall be fixed.
PRECASTED CONCRETE ELEMENTS
1. SCOPE

This procedure is concerned with Precasted Concrete Elements

2. MATERIALS

2.1. Prior to production, all materials have to be tested and approved.


2.2. Materials for the manufacturing of reinforced concrete pipes shall be conform
the following standards ;
Cement Type V ASTM C 150
Fine Aggregate ASTM C 33
Coarse Aggregate ASTM C 33
Water ASTM C 94
Admixtures ASTM C 494
Reinforcement Steel ASTM A496/A615

3. MACHINES AND MOULD EQUIPMENT

3.1 Mould equipment have to be maintained in good and reliable condition.


3.2 Mould equipment shall be alligned properly
3.3 The mould equipment shall be clean, and mould oil shall be applied.
3.4 Inspection shall be made prior to each usage, to assure smooth surfaces.

4. PROPORTIONING AND MIX DESIGNS.


4.1 The QC Engineer, as specified in ACI 318 shall prepare mix designs.
4.2 No changes shall be made without approval of the QC Engineer.
4.3 The concrete shall be tested according the related standards.

5. PRODUCTION
5.1 All precast concrete units shall be fabricated in accordance with the requirements and
recommendation of PCI MNL 116.
5.2 Concrete placement shall be performed in accordance with the section for cast in place
concrete in exception of the following;
5.2.1 Inspection prior to concrete placement is the sole responsibility of the
QC Engineer.
5.2.2 Concrete shall be thoroughly consolidated in the form by sufficient
vibration, and shall be carried out, so that it will not dislocate or damage
the reinforcement and built-in or embedded items.
5.2.3 Curing of precast units shall be low-pressure steam by steam vapor, by
radiant heat and moisture, or other method which accelerates the
concrete hardening, in order to reduce curing time.
5.2.3.1 Initial delay period to steaming at least 2 hours to allow the
initial hardening(setting) of the concrete while water
spraying should take place
5.2.3.2 Increase the temperature during a period of 2 to 2.5 hours.
The steam temperature shall not reach 80 degrees Celsius,
and above as this may result in reduction of ultimate strength.
As much as possible the temperature shall be maintained at
65 degrees Celsius. The temperature should not increase by
more than 20 degrees Celsius per hour.
5.2.3.3 Minimum advisable duration of steam curing under a
constant temperature of 65 degrees Celsius shall be 6 to 8
hours.
5.2.3.4 Temperature decrease during 2 hours shall not be more than
20 degrees Celsius per hour until the temperature reach the
range of 10 degrees Celsius compared to the outside
temperature
5.3 The production process shall be in accordanceto“Production Process” below.

Brief description of “Production Process” hereunder;


5.3.1 Cleaning the mould
5.3.2 Apply mould oil
5.3.3 Check allignment
5.3.4 Place reinforcement
5.3.5 Place the required half products (when required) as described in section
5.2.
5.3.6 Secure mould equipment for moving during pouring of concrete
5.3.7 Start filling
5.3.8 Vibrate during filling
5.3.9 Continue vibrations until concrete is compacted
5.3.10 Demoulding after sufficient curing
5.3.11 Finishing
5.3.12 Curing (water & steam curing + Bitucure coating)

6 MARKING
Every element shall be marked according requirements of the Client;

6.1 The manufacturer’s name, or his trade mark or both.


6.2 The production date.

7 TESTING AND INSPECTION


7.1 Inspection and testing of precast units shall be in accordance with PCI MNL 116, and
the methods outlined in this testing and inspection program
7.2 Cube testing
Each day, 4test cubes/cylinder shall be produced, for compression test, after 7, and 28
Days. The result shall be registered in the form “Concrete Compressive Testing”.
7.3 Appearance Test
The element shall be inspected visually. The surface shall be smooth, free of local
dents, bulges, cracks and other visible defects.
7.4 Measuring of Dimensions
The elements shall be checked for complience with the designated drawings.
7.5.Copies of test reports, and certification of materials shall be available for the Client

7.6.If required, the Client shall employ an independent testing laboratory (on his own
expences), to perform additional tests to his produced elements.

8 CRITERION FOR TECHNICAL CONFORMITY


8.1 Each consignment shall be accompanied with the certificate, indicating its compliance
with the standard
8.2 Any element, not fulfilling the appearance and dimensional test, shall be rejected.

CONCRETE MASONRY BLOCKS AND PAVERS
1. SCOPE

5. PRODUCTION

5.1 The production process of masonry blocks and pavers is full automatic, with manual
operated finger car to transport the pallets with products from the lift to the curing
chambers and back from curing chamber to lowerator rack.

Brief description of production process hereunder;

5.1.1 The wooden pallet is transported into the machine


5.1.2 The form is lowered onto the wooden pallet
5.1.3 The feeding box fill the mould with concrete
5.1.4 When required there shall be pre-vibrated during filling
5.1.5 Feeding box back
5.1.6 Temperhead down and main vobrations shall be applied
5.1.7 Stop vibrations
5.1.8 Demould block / paver, during demoulding the mould go up, while the
temperhead remain on block / paver.
5.1.9 When mould in top position, move temperhead up
5.1.10 The pallet with product shall be transported automaticly to the lift
5.1.11 When lift is full, the finger car take pallets with the produced items to the curing
chamber
5.1.12 When the finger car returns from placing newly produced items in curing
chamber, the finger car will take from another chamber having set of pallets
with cured finished products. The products will be taken out, and placed in the
rack going to the cuber machine.
5.1.13 The pallets will be mechanically transported to the packing area
5.1.14 The products will be clamped and stacked on transportation pallet
5.1.15 The wooden pallet will be cleaned by turning, stacked, and automatic
transported to the stacking-lowering device in front of the machine
5.1.16 Pallets will be transported one by one to the machine, just before entering the
machine, the pallet will be sprayed with mould oil (emulsion oil)

6. MARKING

Every pack shall be marked on the exterior (side, non visible when in place) of the block /
paver by the following;

6.1 The manufacturer’s name, or his trade mark or both.


6.2 The production date.
6.3 The production code
6.4 Quality Control Checked Tag for each batch of delivery.

7. TESTING AND INSPECTION

7.1 Testing, sampling

7.1.1 During production, 5 times per day, a fresh block will be taken from the
pallet, and the weight of compacted concrete shall be determined, by
calculation or weighing under water
7.1.2 One sample of 5 units will be taken from the hardened product, each
day, for dimesional checking and bending strength, after 7 days.
7.1.3 One sample of 15 units will be taken from the hardened product each
day for dimesional checking and bending strength, after 28 days.

7.2 Appearance
7.2.1 Blocks / pavers shall be of a uniform shade with plane faces
7.2.2 Block / paver surfaces shal be free from cracks and flaws. Blocks for
masonry shall be aggregated to facilitate bonding of mortar and renders
7.2.3 Blocks / pavers shall be in proper sizes and special shapes, indicated on
the drawings and shall be conform the Clients specification.
8 CRITERION FOR TECHNICAL CONFORMITY

8.1 Each consignment shall be accompanied with the certificate, indicating its compliance
with the standard
8.2 Every consignment, not fulfilling the appearance and dimensional test, shall be
rejected.
8.3 The consignment shall be considered complying with the standard, if the sample pass
all the tests.
8.4 If one sample or more do not pass, one or more tests, the test / tests shall be repeated on
another sample, double the number of the first sample. If all the units of the second
sample pass the repeated test, the sample shall be considered complying with the
standard, and non complying otherwise.

This procedure is concerned with reinforced concrete pvc lining pipes & manholes used
for sewage, water and others, conform to ASTM D412.

2. MATERIALS

2.1 Prior to production, all materials have to be tested and approved.


2.2 Materials for the manufacturing of reinforced pvc lining concrete pipes shall be
conform the following standards.

3.1 Machine have to be maintained good and in operational condition.


3.2 Machine and mould equipment shall be aligned properly
3.3 The Mould equipment shall be clean, and mould oil shall be applied.
3.4 Inspection shall be made prior to each usage, to assure smooth surfaces.
3.5 T Grip liner material should be kept in an air conditioning store (cold)

4. PROPORTIONING AND MIX DESIGNS.

4.1 The QC Engineer, as specified in ACI 318 shall prepare mix designs.
4.2 No changes shall be made without approval of the QC Engineer.
4.3 The concrete shall be tested according to the related standards.

5. PRODUCTION

5.1 The production process shall be in accordance with attachement “Production Process”

Brief description of production process hereunder,


5.1.1 Set machine in starting position
5.1.2 Place pallet ring
5.1.3 Oil pallet ring
5.1.4 Place reinforcement on oiled pallet ring
5.1.5 Place concrete spacer at designated points
5.1.6 Raise inner mould. Fix the T Grip liner on it
5.1.7 Lower outer mould over pallet ring with reinforcement
5.1.8 Place concrete feeding belt above mould, and start filling concrete
5.1.9 Start vibration
5.1.10 When mould is filled, remove concrete feeding belt
5.1.11 Continue vibrations until concrete is compacted
5.1.12 Place top pressing head to form the spigot
5.1.13 Demould pipe
5.1.14 Place inner and outer set ring
5.1.15 Transport pipe to curing area
5.1.16 Finishing will be done for the manholes only
5.1.17 Water spraying ( hardening time)
5.1.18 Water curing ( sprinklers )
5.1.19 Transport pipe to stock yard & continuous water curing should take place
5.1.20 Apply coating if required by client (Bitucure coating)

6. MARKING

Every pipe & manhole shall be marked on the exterior surface by the following

7. TESTING AND INSPECTION

7.1 Testing, Sampling

7.1.1 The consignment shall be divided into groups of 150 nos.,having the same class,
and size, the remaining part shall be considered a separate group.
7.1.2 Three numbers of pipes shall be selected at random from each group.
7.1.3 Methods of tests according ASTM C76 shall be followed

7.2 Appearance Test

The pipes shall b e inspected visually. The surface shall be smooth, free of local dents,
bulges, cracks and other visible defects.

7.3 Measuring of Dimensions

7.3.1 The following dimensions shall be measured, socket,spigot,internal dimension,


wall thickness and length. The measurements shall be registered in the “Pipe &
manhole Production, Dimensional Checking” form, and have to be within the
tolerances given in the “Pipe Measurements” list.
7.3.2 Compression of rubber sealing ring shall be calculated from measuring results of
socket and spigot.
7.3.3 Measurement of reinforcement cover shall be executed 1:150 pipes. The
measurement shall be registered in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional
Checking” form, under the item Remarks.
7.3.4 Measurement of T Grip liner for every pipe should be done and must have good
welding.

7.4 Straightness Test

Straightness test shall conformed according to ASTM C76 tolerances. The result shall
be registered in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional Checking “ form, under the item
Remarks

7.5 Water Absorption Test

Water absorption test shall be executed according to ASTM C 497. The result shall be
registered in the “Pipe Production,Dimensional Checking”form, under the item
Remarks

7.6 External Load Test

External Load test shall be executed according to ASTM C497. The result shall be
registered in the “Pipe Production,Dimensional Checking”form, under the item
Remarks.

7.7 Hydrostatic Test

Hydrostatic test shall be executed according to ASTM C497. The Result shall be registered
in the “Pipe Production, Dimensional Checking “form, under the item Remarks.
