Objective: This convention focuses on “Edging Towards a Connected Future”
because the future is unpredictable and new technologies have the ability to alter
our whole future, our thinking, the way things function, our approach, and our
view on life. 350+ participants registered in this mega event.
About the Event: The Evolving Science and Technology Convention 2022,
organized by IEEE BVM SB, took place from September 10th to 11th, 2021. Its
goal was to raise awareness of various trending technologies which will connect
us to a sustainable future, while learning more about them from speakers from
illustrious organizations like ISRO, IPR, and Forensic Cybertech etc.

Inauguration of ESTC 2022
The momentous Evolving Science & Technology Convention 2022
(ESTC'22) ceremony was initiated by Drashti Gajjar and Harsh Shil, who invited
the dignitaries on stage. The Chairman of IEEE BVM SB, Om Shukla, gave a
floral welcome to the honourable guests. Following this, Dr. Darshan Dalwadi,
Branch Counsellor of IEEE BVM SB, glanced over the fantastic events
previously held by IEEE BVM SB. Furthermore, Dr. Jagdish Rathod, Faculty
Advisor elucidated the ESTC, which was held in the platinum jubilee of Birla
Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya.
Afterwards, Prof (Dr.) Indrajit Patel, Principal, Birla Vishvakarma
Mahavidyalaya Engineering College, graced us with his inspiring words and
warmly welcomed all honourable guests present at that auspicious moment. Then
the principal, sir, gave us an insight into the history of collaboration between
BVM and ISRO. Later on, Er. Bhikubhai Patel, Chairman-Charutar Vidyamandal
& President of CVM University, appreciated all the previously organized events
by BVM and blessed BVM and IEEE members. Er. Prashant from Vigyan Gurjari
told us about the achievements of Vigyan Gurjari. To show how grateful we were
to have Er. Pravin Sersiya, the Principal of BVM presents him with a memento.
Finally, to conclude the ceremony, Dr. Mukesh Shimpi extends a vote of thanks
to all the dignitaries.

Event at a Glance
Session 1a began with Mr. Deepak Singh, scientist, Indian Space Research
Organisation, ISRO, introducing GAGANYAAN and how fascinated a human
is, always working to satisfy curiosity. Gaganyaan is ISRO's most ambitious
project, he added. And their vision is to implement a sustained and affordable
program to explore the solar system and beyond.
Session 1b began with Dr. Arvind K. Singh Scientist at the Indian Space
Research Organization (ISRO), explaining how INDIAN SCENARIO OF
REMOTE SENSING SATELLITES AND ITS APPLICATIONS. Remote
sensing is the acquiring of information from a distance.
Session 2 started with Rushit Soni, Founder and Director of Forensic CyberTech,
explaining CYBER FORENSICS. Cyber forensics is a process of extracting data
as proof for a crime (that involves electronic devices) while following proper
investigation rules to nab the culprit by presenting the evidence to the court.
Session 3 began with Mr.Jaskaran Singh Manocha , Chief Communications
Officer at CIFDAQ Crypto Exchange, explaining CRYPTO AND
BLOCKCHAIN. Blockchain is the technology that enables the existence of
cryptocurrency.
Session 4 started with Mr. Nishant Bijani, Co-Founder & Chief Technology
Officer (CTO), Codisite Pvt Ltd, explained about METAVERSE: HOW IT
CAN AFFECT OUR REAL LIVES. The metaverse is a hypothetical iteration
of the Internet as a single, universal and immersive virtual world that is facilitated
by the use of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) headsets.
Session 5 began with Dr. Sarveshwar Sharma Scientist, IPR Gandhinagar
explaining PLASMA: A KEY TOOL FOR ENERGY PRODUCTION AND
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS he discussed various classifications of
plasma, such as high-temperature plasma, low-temperature plasma, thermal
plasma, etc.
Workshop was conducted by Mr. Harshit Lalpura Founder & CTO, HashMedia
on AUGMENTED REALITY/VIRTUAL REALITY. Hands on was
conducted for proper understanding.

Objective: This event will focus on delivering a surface level congruency towards satellite
communication, one of the most lucrative domains for technocrats in current times. The
dignitary expert, Mr. Patel who is extremely sound and well accomplished in this domain will
provide his insights towards the work profile of a technologist in the satellite sector and will
brief the attendees with the future scope and opportunities for aspiring students.
About the Event: The first session in the event series of “Procyon-The gravitational pull
towards knowing the technical world” organized by IEEE BVM SB on Satellite
Communication was held on 9th January, 2022 at 5:30 PM IST. It was commenced with
welcoming remarks by the host which was followed by an introductory account on the expert
speaker’s work profile delivered by Dr. Jagdish Rathod, Faculty Advisor, IEEE BVM SB. The
expert speaker led the session by diving into a brief historical epiphany of satellites which was
first launched by USSR (former Soviet Union) followed by other countries like USA, Canada,
etc. He went on to explain about how satellite communication has attained a significant role in
today’s era of technology due to its various applications and immense efficacy. Ending remarks
were given by Dr. Darshan Dalwadi, Branch Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB, extended vote of
thanks to the expert speaker, organizers and all the participants.

Objective: This event will focus on the way to construct and improve your profile on
LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a notable platform to construct your community and hook up with
numerous recruiters. The event delivers all the things one should know about LinkedIn, it’s
importance and how to use LinkedIn in a right way. It makes the participants understand the
various areas of LinkedIn profile, content creation, networking, variety of strategies to find
internships and jobs using LinkedIn.
About the Event: “Level Up with LinkedIn” was organized by IEEE BVM SB on 19th
February, 2022 at 11:00 AM IST. The event commenced with a warm welcoming speech by a
host which was followed by an introductory account on the expert speaker’s work profile
delivered by Dr. Darshan Dalwadi, Branch Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB. Mr. Kanishk Rao
explained how to build an effective and relevant profile on LinkedIn. Some important points
for profile building covered were add your position and relevant work profile, use keywords
cleverly for Bio, add your best posts including CV or Resume, add your experience,
Certification and Licenses, Skills, Projects, Recommendation, etc. Ending remarks were given
by Om Shukla, Chairperson, IEEE BVM SB, extended a vote of thanks to the expert speaker,
organizers and all the enthusiastic participants.

Objective: The event focused on various aspects of power system that includes grid
arrangement, its structure, their market models, Transmission management and its pricing. To
give an idea about Indian Energy Exchange how its marketing takes place.
About the Event: “Aspects of Power System Economics” was organized by IEEE BVM
SB on 26th February 2022 at 10:30 AM IST. Session inaugurated with Opening Remarks by
Dr. Rashesh Mehta, HOD Electrical Department and the introductory note on expert speaker
was given by Prof. Ajay M Patel. speaker talked briefly on a various topic of interest that
includes grid architecture in India, power system structure, market models. He explained about
grid development over time with motto of “one nation, one grid, one frequency”. Concluding
the event, ending and valedictory remarks was given by Om Shukla, Chairperson IEEE BVM
SB.

Objective: Smart India Hackathon is a national level event that allows students to showcase
their talents and innovative ideas to provide solutions to respective problem statements from
various ministries and organizations.
About the Event: Charutar Vidya Mandal's Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya
Engineering College arranged an offline event “Smart India Hackathon Pre-Qualifier” on
12.03.2022. This offline event was conducted by BVM SSIP Cell and IEEE BVM SB. Mr.
Amin Mansuri, TCS system engineer, Mr. Keyur Chauhan, proprietor Shreeji Charan
technologies, and Mr. Chirag Rabhadiya, Alstom chief architect train control were on the
expert panel for concept evaluation. Dr. Bhargav Goradiya, Nodal Officer BVM SSIP, gave
the introductory remarks during the ceremony. Dr. Jagdish Rathod, IEEE BVM SB faculty
advisor, spoke encouraging comments. SSIP Coordinator Dr. Rajvirsinh Rana, presented a
quick overview of the pre-qualifier round. Dr. Darshan Dalwadi, IEEE BVM SB Branch
Counsellor, sent his best wishes to the students. Each of the participating teams gave a one-on-
one presentation to the judges. Participants talk about their problem description, problem
solutions, how they handled it, justification, and technology used, benefits, and so on.
Following the presentations, the judges recommended them and provided positive feedback.
After all of the teams finished their presentations, all the judges wished them well and
concluded the event in a courteous manner.

Objective: The purpose of the event was to establish a user-friendly interface to the IEEE
platform, which fosters, develops, and advances worldwide technology development. This
event aided many enthusiastic students, professionals in maximizing the value of IEEE e-
resources as it’s a prestigious and significant platform in research-oriented areas.
About the Event: “Maximize the value of IEEE e-resources” was organized by IEEE BVM
SB on 7th April 2022 at 11:30 AM IST. The event commenced with a warm welcome speech
by Dr. Jagdish Rathod (Faculty Advisor, IEEE BVM SB), speaker introduction Dr. Darshan
Dalwadi, Branch Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB by followed by presidential remarks given by Dr.
Indrajit Patel, Principal BVM Engineering College. The event then started off and the expert
speaker gave an overview of IEEE resources and the IEEE platform. In the further event, he
briefed about the platform of IEEE Xplore which provides full-text access to the world's
highest-quality engineering and technology literature. Ending remarks were given by Nitya
Parikh, Vice-Chairperson, IEEE BVM SB, extended vote of thanks to the expert speaker,
organizers and all the enthusiastic participants.

Objective: The goal of the event was to make fresher students to the college aware about
IEEE, its aspects and benefits. The purpose of the event was to introduce students about the
role and function of each team involved with IEEE.
About the Event: The IEEE orientation program was commenced at about 11:30 AM with
warm welcome to attendees and faculty with introductory remarks by Harsh Acharya, R&D
Officer, IEEE BVM SB. Following it Dr. Jagdish Rathod, Faculty Advisor, IEEE BVM SB
briefed about the work culture and inspiring words were given by Dr. Darshan Dalwadi, Branch
Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB. Also, the success stories of our student branch were appreciated
by Dr. Mukesh Shimpi, Associate Dean, R&D Cell, BVM. The presentation opens with an
overview of IEEE's vision and goal, followed by a discussion of the primary areas on which
the organization focuses. All the students were explained about the functionality and role of
such a prestigious organization at a national and international level. the attendees were
introduced to NPSS (Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society) and the Affinity Group of IEEE
WIE (Women in Engineering). The event concluded with vote of thanks given by Rishit
Thakkar, Chairperson, NPSS & Joint Secretary, IEEE BVM SB to the participants and
volunteers that gave their contribution to the event.

Objective: The purpose of the event is to give a guidance session to students for building
resume and make students understand about its different aspects. The session also focused on
preparing LinkedIn profile and make students aware about approaches to connect people and
make use of referrals for better reach.
About the Event: “Resume Building & Job Strategies via LinkedIn” was organized by
IEEE BVM SB on 18th June at 11:00 AM. The event commenced with the presidential remarks
as well as inspiring & motivating words by Dr. Indrajit Patel, Principal, BVM Engineering
College. It was followed by opening remarks and speaker introduction given by Dr. Jagdish
Rathod, Faculty Advisor, IEEE BVM SB. The speaker continued with the session and
explained about the significance of resume and how this document gives a brief formal
introduction of that person. The speaker then demonstrated about the way to write resume and
the list of things one should include while preparing resume and the possible mistakes. She
discussed about the benefits of networking and connecting with different peoples sharing
common interests and background. She also demonstrated the way of approach to send
connection links. At last ending remarks and valedictory remarks was given by Dr. Darshan
Dalwadi, Branch Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB.

Objective: The event's purpose is to provide practical knowledge about NFTs, the Future of
NFTs, and skills to master them. The session also focused on how one can earn and create their
own NFTs, avoid risks, and find the best marketplace for creators.
About the Event: “NFT in Action” was organized by IEEE BVM SB on 26th June 2022 at
11:00 AM. The event commenced with a warm welcome to attendees and faculty with
introductory remarks by Preet Rana, IEEE BVM SB. It was followed by opening remarks and
a speaker introduction by Dr. Jagdish Rathod, Faculty Advisor, IEEE BVM SB. The speaker
further carried out the session and explained the essence of NFT. He described NFT in simple
terms to make participants aware of this terminology. Moving ahead, the speaker described
about various characteristics of NFT that includes its uniqueness, traceability, asset
standardization, interoperability and many such more. The speaker talked about various
obstacles like anonymity of user, poor performance and inadequate regulation facility that has
led to rejection of NFT by general public. At last, ending remarks and valedictory remarks was
given by Dr. Darshan Dalwadi, Faculty Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB.

Objective: The purpose of the visit is to increase the knowledge of students in the field of
VLSI and Fabrication of chips and the need of Application specific ICs. The visit also helped
students to know about various projects done by the company in the past, and the ones that the
company is currently working on.
About the Event: “Industrial Visit to: e-Infochips - An Arrow Company” was organized
by IEEE BVM SB on 28th July 2022 at 9:00 AM. The event commenced with a journey to
Ahmedabad. The team reached the company at 12:00 PM noon. The visit began with a
Presentation by Pranav Vyas sir, explaining the importance of VLSI in various fields like
Industrial Automation, Aerospace, Automotive as well as Consumer Electronics. He further
also briefed about the role that the company plays in Electronics Industry, also to motivate the
students he discussed about the 6-month Internship program that the company provides with a
training in e-iTRA (A training academy of e-InfoChips). The students were taken to the
Hardware Lab, where they were shown the on-going projects. The work Culture in the
company, with the microchip that were being designed. How those firmwares are written that
drive the ASIC.

resources" on September 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM IST. Dr. Jagdish Rathod, Faculty Advisor, IEEE
BVM SB, gave a heartfelt welcoming address to kick off the program. Dr. Darshan Dalwadi,
Branch Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB, then introduced the speakers. The event then started off
and the expert speaker gave an overview of IEEE resources and the IEEE platform. He also
gave a briefing on the IEEE Xplore platform, which offers full-text access to the best
engineering and technology literature available anywhere in the globe. The speaker then talked
about its significance in the area of research, where enthusiasts can explore their topic of
interest. Ending remarks were given by Swar Shah, Operations Manager, IEEE BVM SB
extending a vote of thanks to the expert speaker, organizers and all the enthusiastic participants.

Objective: To provide an epigram about significant achievements and celebrate the legacy
of ‘IEEE Day’. To apprehend freshmen students about various activities conducted by IEEE
BVM Student Branch to explain the functionality of each and every team associated.
About the Event: IEEE day is celebrated to honor the engineers worldwide and the IEEE
members gathered to share their technical ideas for the first time. The theme for IEEE day was
“LEVERAGING TECHNOLOGY FOR A BETTER TOMORROW”. Dr. Jagdish Rathod,
Faculty Advisor, IEEE BVM SB commemorated the BVM celebration of IEEE Day by
expressing his best wishes for the occasion and sharing his prior experiences with the IEEE
BVM SB. Dr. Darshan Dalwadi, Branch Counselor, IEEE BVM SB also graced the stage,
sharing his former experiences and recollections of IEEE BVM SB. He also thanked the
volunteers and leaders who had helped IEEE BVM SB grow and leave a lasting legacy. The
speech of Dr. Mukesh Shimpi, Associate Dean, R&D Cell, BVM Engineering College
extended his best wishes and advised the students to concentrate more on publishing research
papers to improve their Curriculum Vitae, continued the event. Mr. Rishit Thakkar and Mr.
Ishan Upadhyay being the IEEE DAY Ambassadors, briefed about the day and its celebration
and also provided valuable information about IEEE.

Objective: To provide knowledge of motor design and hands-on experience with different
types of motor and their parts like stator core, rotor winding, stampings, etc.
About the Event: An offline expert talk on “Design aspects of 3 phase induction motor”
was organized for the celebration of 75 years of BVM Engineering College. The event was
jointly organized by IEEE BVM SB and IE (I) Electrical Student’s Chapter for the Final year
B. Tech. Students. The event was successfully commenced in the presence of Dr. R P Mehta
(HOD, Electrical Engineering Dept); Dr. Akshay Pandya & Prof. G K Sharma (Event
coordinators); Prof. S V Arya; Prof. A R Patel; Prof. K G Gadhiya; Prof. Shweta Jain; Prof.
Hemang Patel; Prof. M N Sinha (IE (I) Electrical Students’ Chapter Chairman); Dr. Y.R.
Prajapati (Faculty Advisor, IE(I) Electrical Students’ Chapter). The event started with a
welcoming speech given by Prof. G K Sharma (Course Coordinator). After that Dr. Rashesh
Mehta (HOD Electrical Dept.) gave the introduction of the speaker. Before starting the event
demonstrations of equipment like speed control of BLDC Motor was shown to the students,
IPMSM motor etc was shown to students. After demonstration the speaker starts the main
session with the distribution of winding. He showed the students how to calculate the slots/pole,
coil pitch factor, and various other factor which are taken into considerations while designing
the winding of motor.

Objective: Radiation protection is an event to ensure the safety of people from radiation
exposure. It involves measures to prevent, minimize and control radiation exposure and to keep
it within permissible limits. The event provides awareness to people on radiation protection
and its benefits. It also provides guidelines and tips to protect oneself against radiation
exposure. The event also includes a discussion on the effects of radiation, how to reduce its
risk and how to manage it.
About the event: The second session in the event series of “Procyon-The gravitational pull
towards knowing the technical world” organized by IEEE BVM SB on Radiation Protection
was held on 31st December, 2022 at 11:30 AM IST. It was commenced with welcoming
remarks by the host which was followed by an introductory account on the expert speaker’s
work profile delivered by Dr. Darshan Dalwadi, Branch Counsellor, IEEE BVM SB.
Thereafter, Mr. Reetesh Singh Kaurav, the expert speaker started the session by giving some
examples of radiation effects after many tragedies of radiation by explosives. The students were
able to get the basic knowledge about which particles and machines around them cause
radiations. Ending remarks were given by Mr. Rishit Thakkar, NPSS Chairperson extending a
vote of thanks to the expert speaker, organizers and all the participants.

Team IEEE BVM SB organised 14 events during the year 2022. The
flagship event Evolving Science and Technology Convention 2022 was the
second offline flagship event conducted by IEEE BVM SB with 8 national
speakers, 7 sessions and a workshop.
IEEE BVM SB was awarded with Best Student Branch award at
Sampark-2023. And with Promising Student Branch award at
SAMPARK-2022.
Additional to that the ESTC’22 got featured on IEEE India Council
Newsletter IC Vaani, September 2022 issue.
