Script for Opening Program

Wowie: In a world often divided by differences, sports serve as a bridge that connects
us all. It's a tapestry woven with the threads of passion, dedication, and the unyielding
human spirit. Sport is not merely an occasion to showcase physical prowess but also, it
is a celebration of the values that sports instill in us.

Jero: As we embark on this thrilling journey, let's take a moment to appreciate the
athletes who have dedicated countless hours to honing their skills, pushing their
boundaries, and embodying the true spirit of sportsmanship. Each event you will
witness today is a story of resilience, of triumph over adversity. It's a tale written not just
in the scoreboards but in the sweat, tears, and sacrifices made by every participant.

Wowie: But beyond the competition, sport is a celebration of unity. Look around we
have people from different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life, bound together by a
common love for the game.

Jero: Sports have a unique way of teaching us invaluable life lessons – the importance
of teamwork,

Wowie: the strength found in unity,

Together: and the resilience required to bounce back from setbacks.

Jero: So, let's savor every moment, soak in the atmosphere, and appreciate the magic
that unfolds before us. I am ______________________

Together: This is the 2024 edition of Unit 1 Sports Festival. Together let us Break
Borders and Build Places

Wowie: To officially commence our festivities, let us stand as one for the Doxology,
presented by the students and teachers of San Teodoro National High School.

Jero: Please remain standing for the singing of the Philippine National Anthem,
MIMAROPA March, Oriental Mindoro Hymn, and San Teodoro Hymn accompanied by
the STCS Drum and Lyre Band, to be conducted by Mrs. Gemma Valdez.

Wowie: Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, esteemed faculty, and cherished
students, it is with immense pleasure and honor that I welcome here in front the
visionary leader, a beacon of inspiration, and the driving force behind our collective
pursuit of educational excellence – our esteemed Coordinating Principal, Mrs. Mirafe I.
Aparato to give her words of welcome.
Jero: Thank you, Ma’am Aparato. Today marks a momentous occasion as we gather to
witness the ceremonious hoisting of banners that symbolize our collective aspirations,
unity, and shared values. This ritual is not merely a display of colors; it is a visual
representation of our identity, purpose, and the spirit that binds us together.

Wowie: In the presence of these banners, we find not just cloth and pigment, but
emblems that capture the essence of our ideals. Each banner tells a story – a narrative
of our journey, our achievements, and the principles we hold dear. As we raise them
high, we amplify our commitment to these principles and declare to the world our unity
in purpose.

Jero: Today, we hoist more than banners; we raise symbols of inspiration, resilience,
and the pursuit of excellence. These emblems flutter in the wind, carrying with them the
hopes and dreams of our community. It is a moment to reflect on our shared history,
celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the promising future that these
banners herald.

Wowie: May we invite our delegation head from Puerto Galera, Baco, and San Teodoro,
to join us in this symbolic ceremony, to hoist the banner high, symbolizing not only our
shared identity but also our collective commitment to a future of shared success and
enduring unity.

(hoisting of banners)

Jero: As we look upon these banners fluttering in the wind, let them be a reminder of
the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship that will unfold on the fields today. Each
banner represents a team, a story, and a journey of triumphs and challenges.

Wowie: Athletes, teacher-coaches, and everyone who are witnessing this moment, it is
my pleasure to introduce a key figure in our sports community, the dedicated individual
who orchestrates the prowess of our athletes– Mr. Jay B. Bae, our esteemed District
Sports Coordinator for Elementary. With an unwavering passion for fostering
sportsmanship and skill development, Mr. Bae plays a pivotal role in shaping the future
athletes of our district. Today, he joins us to proudly present the stellar delegation
representing the different districts. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Jay B. Bae to the
stage.

Jero: Wow! Now that's the kind of welcome that gets the heart pumping and the
adrenaline flowing!

Wowie: Absolutely, partner! I don't know about you, but I can feel the excitement in the
air. The energy from each delegation is off the charts!

Jero: I've got to say, those cheers are like a shot of motivation straight to the soul.
Wowie: Undeniably! It's not just a sports meet; it's a visual and auditory explosion of
school pride. And you know what they say, partner, a well-executed cheer can boost
morale and turn the tide of the game!

Jero: Continuing the program, it is my distinct honor to introduce a stalwart leader

whose dedication has shaped the destiny of our municipality – the Honorable Salvador
R. Py, our esteemed Municipal Mayor. Today, Mayor Py graces us with his presence to
share an inspirational message that resonates with the spirit of San Teodoro. Please
join me in welcoming Mayor Salvador R. Py.

Wowie: Thank you Hon. Salvador R. Py for that heartfelt message.

Amidst the excitement of competition, it's time to take a breather and enjoy a
spectacular performance. Prepare to be mesmerized as the STNHS Sanggalaw Dance
Troupe takes the stage, offering us a delightful intermission filled with rhythm, grace,
and artistic expression.

Jero: Wow! It was very nostalgic. Seeing those dance moves made me reminisce the
past when I was still a student performer. I know that you, partner, found it worth
reminiscing.

Wowie: Yes partner. Back in the days, I would always be present on stage with events
like this.

Jero: Ladies and gentlemen, it is our pleasure to introduce a respected figure in our
educational community, the Education Program Supervisor for MAPEH, our very own,
Mr. Roberto A. Almedilla II.

Wowie: With a wealth of expertise and a passion for promoting physical education and
the arts, Mr. Almedilla joins us today to share an insightful message. Please welcome
Mr. Roberto A. Almedilla II.

Jero: Thank you, Mr. Almedilla, for your time, expertise, and the motivation you have
shared with us today. Your presence has enriched our event, and we look forward to
implementing your guidance in our future endeavors.

Wowie: In the spirit of fair play and the essence of true sportsmanship, we are about to
witness a significant and solemn moment. Today, we have the privilege of having
Jhannaven C. Sigue, a remarkable athlete representing our elementary school in
Palarong Pambansa Table Tennis to take the Oath of Amateurism, pledging commitment
to fair play and integrity in the spirit of healthy competition.

Jero: It is with great honor and privilege that we welcome a distinguished guest who
plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. Please join
me in welcoming the Officer-in-Charge and Chief of Police of the San Teodoro Municipal
Police Station, PCPT Ria Natuel Rosaroso.
Wowie: In the spirit of unity, friendship, and the common love for sports, we now come
to a symbolic moment. Josh Michal C. Sigue, a representative of our Palarong
Pambansa players, will light the Urn of Unity and Friendship, illuminating our shared
commitment to fostering camaraderie among schools and communities.

Jero: A flame that symbolizes unity and friendship is now ignited. Thank you, Josh
Michal C. Sigue. And now, let's hear from someone who plays a key role in promoting
sportsmanship and healthy competition, Dr. Eddy A. Dalisay, the Division Sports
Coordinator.

Wowie: As we reach the climax of our program, it's time to officially declare the
commencement of the Unit 1 Athletic Meet. To formally commence this activity, may I
call back on stage our District Coordinating Principal, Mrs. Mirafe I. Aparato.

Wowie: Well, folks, it's been an absolute blast kicking off the Unit Meet 2024 with all of
you! The energy, the cheers, and the vibrant spirit from each delegation have set the
stage for an unforgettable event.

Jero: That's right! But before we wrap things up, let's give a massive shout-out to the
real stars of the show – each and every one of you, the athletes, teacher-coaches,
officials, and the amazing supporters who make this event truly special.

Wowie: And let's not forget our dedicated organizers, volunteers, and everyone behind
the scenes who worked tirelessly to make this Unit Meet a reality. A round of applause
for the unsung heroes!

Jero: As we bid goodbye, remember that the true spirit of the Sports Meet isn't just
about winning;

Wowie: it's about the friendships,

Jero: the camaraderie,

Together: and the shared love for sports.

Jero: So, go out there, give it your all, and make some memories that will last a lifetime!

Wowie: Thank you all for being part of this exhilarating start.

Together: Now, let the games begin, and may the cheers be loud, the victories sweet,
and the memories everlasting!
