Subject: Evaluation of Teaching Practice with Year One Nursery

Greetings Ms. Forester,

I am writing to provide you with feedback on your recent teaching practice with the Year One nursery
students. It is important for us to address some concerns that were noted during your teaching practice. It is
essential for your growth and development as an educator that we discuss these issues openly and
constructively.

Areas of Concern:
Your lesson lacked structure: 1. Introduction.
2. Developmental Stages
3. A conclusion

- During the teaching practice, there were instances where you appeared to procrastinate and allow the student
to distract you from the lesson. It is crucial for you to demonstrate effective classroom control and stay
focused on the objectives of the lesson. Procrastination and allowing distractions can hinder the learning
process and impact the overall effectiveness of your teaching.

- Maintaining a structured and organized classroom environment is key to successful teaching. It is important
for you to establish clear expectations, routines, and boundaries to ensure that students are engaged and
focused on the learning activities. Consistent reinforcement of rules and expectations will help you maintain
control and create a conducive learning environment.

Recommendations for Improvement:

- I encourage you to work on developing effective classroom management strategies to address issues of
procrastination and student distractions. Set clear boundaries and expectations for student behaviour and be
consistent in enforcing them. Establish routines and procedures to help students stay on task and engaged in
the learning process.
- Practice time management skills to ensure that you can cover all planned activities within the
allocated time frame. Prioritize tasks, set realistic goals, and stay organized to avoid
unnecessary delays and distractions during lessons.

- Reflect on your teaching practice and seek feedback from mentors and colleagues to
identify areas for improvement. Take proactive steps to address these challenges and work
towards enhancing your classroom control and lesson delivery.

I believe that with dedication, self-reflection, and a willingness to learn and grow, you can
overcome these challenges and become a more effective educator.
Please feel free to schedule a meeting to discuss this evaluation further or if you require
additional support or resources to help you improve your teaching practice.

Sincerely,

Yours sincerely,

Coleen Rogers,
Deputy Head Teacher,
