"3 Idiots"
"3 Idiots" is a Bollywood movie that was released in 2009. It's a coming-of-age comedy-
drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani, and it stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman
Joshi in the lead roles. The film is a critique of the Indian education system and it has a
powerful message about following one's passion.

The film begins with Farhan Qureshi (Madhavan) and Raju Rastogi (Joshi) receiving a call
from their old friend Chatur Ramalingam (Omi Vaidya). He claims to have found their long-
lost friend, Rancho (Khan). This prompts them to remember their college days.

The story then flashes back to their time at the Imperial College of Engineering (ICE).
Rancho, Farhan, and Raju are roommates and best friends. Rancho is a free-thinking and
unconventional student, while Farhan and Raju are pressured by their families to succeed.

Rancho often clashes with the college director, Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani), who
believes in rote learning and is dismissive of Rancho's unconventional ideas. Despite this,
Rancho consistently tops the class while also helping Farhan and Raju with their studies.

Rancho also falls in love with the director's daughter, Pia (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who is
engaged to Chatur. Chatur, who is the typical bookworm and crammer, becomes Rancho's
main adversary.

On graduation day, Rancho and Chatur make a bet. Chatur, who believes in mindless
memorization, bets that he'll be more successful than Rancho in the next ten years. After the
ceremony, Rancho mysteriously disappears.

In the present day, Farhan and Raju find out that the person Chatur found is not Rancho but
another man who had stolen Rancho's identity. They also learn that the real Rancho was a
servant's son who loved learning, and the servant's master had allowed Rancho to study in his
son's name.

They also discover that Rancho had invented several gadgets for the welfare of mankind.
They find out that Rancho had left the college and gone to Shimla to run a school for the
children of the village.

Farhan, Raju, and Pia, who had broken off her engagement with Chatur, go to Shimla. They
reunite with Rancho, and Pia and Rancho confess their love for each other.

Chatur arrives in Shimla and is humiliated when he realizes that Rancho has achieved more
than him, not in terms of wealth, but in terms of happiness and satisfaction. He concedes that
Rancho's method of chasing excellence rather than success is the correct way.

The movie ends with Farhan pursuing his dream of becoming a wildlife photographer, Raju is
settled in a comfortable job, and Pia and Rancho are happily married. The film ends on a
happy note, emphasizing the importance of following one's passion and thinking differently.

The film "3 Idiots" is not just a movie, it's a message. It's a call to change the education
system, to shift the focus from rote learning to understanding and creativity, and to follow
one's passion instead of walking on the trodden path.

Despite being a comedy, the film also deals with serious issues like the pressure of
expectations, the rat race for success, and the importance of friendship. It shows that success
is not just about money and ranks, but also about happiness and satisfaction.
"3 Idiots" is a film that resonates with everyone, whether they are students, parents, or
teachers. It's a film that makes you laugh, makes you cry, and most importantly, makes you
think.

In conclusion, "3 Idiots" is a brilliant film that combines entertainment with a powerful
message. It's a film that has left a lasting impact on its viewers and continues to inspire many
to this day.
