CHUYÊN ĐỀ 3: MIÊU TẢ VỚI BE VÀ HAVE
1. Chúng ta thường sử dụng động từ TO BE để miêu tả ngoại hình hoặc tính cách.
(+) S + to be (am/is/are) + adj.
I am confident. (I'm confident.) (Tôi tự tin.)
They are clever. (They're clever.) (Họ thông minh.)
She is beautiful. (She's beautiful.) (Cô ấy xinh đẹp.)
(-) S + to be (am/is/are) + NOT + adj
He isn’t shy. (Anh ấy không nhút nhát)
(?) Am/is/are + S + adj?
Is she cute? (Cô ấy có đáng yêu không?)
I am = I'm
We/ You/ They/ Danh từ số nhiều + are = We‘re/ You ‘re/ They ‘re
She/ He/ It/ Danh từ số ít + is = She’s/ He’s/ It’s
2. Chúng ta thường dùng HAVE / HAS để miêu tả ngoại hình.
(+) S + have/ has + (a/ an) + adj. + body part (bộ phận của cơ thể)
I have long hair. (Tôi có mái tóc dài.)
She has a round face. (Cô ấy có một khuôn mặt tròn)
(-) S + DO / DOES + NOT + have …….
The cat doesn’t have green eyes. (Con mèo không có đôi mắt màu xanh lá cây.)
(?) DO / DOES + S + have…..

Tính từ ngắn (short adjectives) là tính từ chỉ có một âm tiết như “fast, good, nice, tall…”
Bên cạnh đó, những tính từ có 2 âm tiết và âm tiết thứ hai có kết thúc là “-y, -er, -le, -ow, -et” cũng là tính từ
ngắn. (Ví dụ : happy, hollow, purple, quiet… )
