Meaning of Mudharabah
Mudharabah is a form of contract or
business agreement in sharia
economics that is widely used in the
business world, which relies on
cooperation between capital and
management. This contract is used by
small to large scale businesses, both
in the banking, investment and
insurance sectors.
Characteristics of Mudharabah
Contract
Some of the characteristics of mudharabah contracts in general
are as follows:
1. Relying on cooperation between shahibul mal and mudharib.
2. The distribution of benefits between shahibul mal and
mudharib is based on an agreement that has been made
together.
3. Shahibul mal bears the risk of the funds that have been
given.
4. Mudharib as the capital manager does not bear the risk of
loss on his investment as long as it is not due to his
negligence.
5. Capital management decisions are made by mudharib.
Types of Mudharabah
Mudharabah is a business cooperation agreement between the owner
of funds (shahibul maal) and the fund manager (mudharib) in sharia
economics. This contract is divided into three types: mudharabah
mutlaqah, mudharabah muqayyadah and Mudharabah Musytarakah.
