ME - 323 - Lab - 2 - Mohammed Ahmed Tahhan - 392027113

The document describes a lab report for an experiment determining velocity in linkages using a graphical method. It provides details of two problems, including the setup of linkages and rotational information. It also includes a grading rubric for the lab experiment. The student is asked to show the graphical solution steps for both problems and list all steps involved in the graphical solutions.

Problem 1:
In a four bar linkage ABCD, AD is fixed and is 120 mm long. The crank AB is 30 mm
long and rotates at 100 rpm in clockwise direction while the link CD is 60 mm
oscillates about D. BC and AD are of equal length. Find angular velocity of the link
CD when the angle BAD is 60⁰.

Note: List all the steps involved in the graphical solution of both the problems. The steps carry 20% of the marks for the solution.
Problem 2:
The following figure (a) shows a piston engine and figure (b) shows the line position
diagram. The crank OB 0.05m long, rotates at 250 rad/s (2387 rev/min) anticlockwise.
The length of the connecting rod BP is 0.2m. How do we determine the sliding velocity
of the piston and the angular velocity of the line BP?
