because it can force them to adopt a new mindset or do activities that
conform to the group standards. This can also change students'
attitudes and opinions.

asserts that positive and negative influences. Peer pressure
encompasses on individuals, contributing to continuous learning
experiences, Specifically, peer pressure has been observed to Impact
students academic performance, with effects varying from positive
reinforcement to detrimental outcomes. Despite the Pervasive nature of
peer influence, teenagers may not fully comprehend how their peers
shape their academic behavior, seeking comfort and validation withing
their peer groups.

effects of peer pressure "the academic performance of senior High
School (SHS) Students. Ultimately, by enhancing our understanding of
the effects of peer pressure academic performance, we aspire to inform
evidence-bared interventions that empower Ots students to survive
academically and socially amidst peer in influences dynamics.
THEORITICAL FRAMEWORK
The study is anchored on Erikson's Theory (1950) asserts that peer
pressure is an essential component of a Person's Growth, Education

includes both positive and negative peer pressure that shapes and

Performances of Senior High School Students of General Luna National
High School.
Specifically, It sought to answer the following specific question:

2. What is the Effect of Peer Pressure on Academic Performances?
3. What are the Possible solutions/suggestions that can be offend
as coping mechanism and peer pressure?
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study will benefit of following groups of people.
Students: The result of this study can shed important light on how peer
pressure affects student's academic achievement. Students who are
aware of how peer interactions impact their learning outcomes will be
better equipped to resist harmful influences, make wise decisions, and
foster strong peer relationships that will help them succeed
academically.
Teachers. Educators can learn more about the social dynamics in the
classroom and the educational setting as a result of this study. They
can offset negative impacts and establish a supportive learning
environment that encourages states achievement by Implementing
targeted interventions and support measures once they recognize the
influence of peer pressure student performance.
Parents. It is essential to helping their kids succeed academically.
Parents who are aware of how peer pressure affect academic
achievement can assist their children in overcoming social obstacles
and achieving academic success direction. Equipped by offering with

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
This study will cover the Effects of Peer Pressure on the Academic
Performance of Senior High School Students. It considered the following
variables the socio demographic profile of the respondents. Which
Includes their age, sex, and grade level, strand and grade point average
(GPA) another variables is the academic performances of the Senior
High School Students.
The primary subjects of the research study will consist of the Senior
High School Students enrolled in the School Year 2023-2024. The total
number of students to be included is thirty (30) across the entire Senior
High School, with five (5) students allocated per section. The
researchers will be conduct this study at General Luna National High
School from 3rd to 4th quarter of the school year 2023-2024.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
The following terms are defined operationally to facilitate
understanding.
Peer Pressure- In this study, it refers on how members of the same
social group influence individuals to change their behaviours.
Senior High school Students- It refers to grade 11-12 Students who
are mostly affected by peer pressure.
Academic Performances- It refers to class participation typically, test
scores and extracurricular activities that indicate after completing the
course.
Peer Influence- Act of influence or a persuasion. - It is a more accurate
way to explain how the need to feel like a member of a peer group
shapes the behaviour of teenagers
