I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
a. Identify prepositions used in the selection
b. Use the correct prepositions in sentences
c. Realize the importance of family bonding

III. Procedure

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY
A. First Prong
1. Motivation(GLR)
Showing pictures to the pupils.

What can you say about the picture?


Can you describe what they are doing?
Have you visited already the zoo?

2. Unlocking of difficulties

Class later we are going to read a story but before that let’s us
have this activity called MATCH ME!
Direction: Choose a word inside the box then match each with
its meaning written on the chart. Write only the letter before
each number

1. Jack and Emma are getting ready to visit the zoo with there
family.
2. The car stops at the traffic signal.
3. The Car starts and pigeon flies away from car.
4. A lioness is running after the cub.
5. Everyone enjoys the picnic at the zoo.

a. A stout seed- or fruit eating bird with a small


head, short legs, and a cooing voice, typically
having gray and white plumage.

written there on your hand out.

Those words that you mentioned are part of speech which is


called preposition.

2. Discussion & Abstractions

Prepositions are the words that we put before nouns or


pronouns.

Types of Prepositions

1. Preposition of Time – used to show when


something is happening.

For example

- We will be meeting on Friday.


- The supermarket will be closed from 9. P.m. to 9 a.m.
- Can you come after some time?
- The whole country was asked to stay home during the
pandemic to ensure safety and well – being.
2. Prepositions of Direction – used to denote
the direction in which something travels or
moves.

For example
- The girl ran toward her father the moment she saw
him.
- Jerry jumped into the river to help his sister.

3. Prepositions of Location – employed to


denote the location of a particular object.

For example
- Kenny would be staying at his cousin’s place for the
weekend.
- Make sure you keep all the toys back in its place after
you play.

4. Prepositions of Spatial Relationship – used


to denote an object’s movement away
from the source and towards a source.
For example
- Navya sat leaning against the wall.
- The circus was stationed opposite the children’s park.

5. Prepositional Phrase – a combination of a


preposition and a noun ( Object it is
affecting ).
For example:
- See to it that you reach the venue on time.
- The medicines you asked for are out of stock.

3. Practice Exercise – Directions:


identify the following prepositions in
these sentences by underlining them.

E. Fourth Prong

 Directions: I will divide you into 4 groups. Group 1 will


have an activity called “Remember me” you will list
down 10 sentences of some good
experiences/memories that you had with your family.
Group 2 will also have an activity called “ create me”,
you will create a poem about family . While group 3
will draw which describe the part of the story that you
like and explain it to the class. And group 4 will have
an activity called “ Act me” Group 4 will do acting that
show a family bonding.

IV. Evaluation: Make a list of the preposition as


they appear in the following sentences.

1. He sat on the chair.


2. There is some milk in the fridge.
3. She was hiding under the table.
4. Cat jumped off the counter.
5. He drove over the bridge.
6. She lost her ring at the beach.
7. Book belongs to Anthony.
8. Were sitting by the tree.
9. We are running in the gym today.
10. The sun is above the clouds.

V. Assignment: Photo Challenge.


Directions: Describe picture below in a sentence using
