As a liberal arts college, Bard speaks appeals to me on a personal level. I have always appreciated close
study sessions. I appreciate how Bard College offers students one-on-one interaction during lectures.
Being a computer and software enthusiast, I appreciate the research availability opportunities offered by
Bard college. The senior project program where we students must do a project of choice for two
semesters excites fascinates me as most high-profile universities fail to do so with such in-depth
supervision. I have always admired the learning process and Bard offers an experience that results in a
student having the ability to solve problems on a much larger scale after graduation.
Speaking of graduation, I want to be just like Richard Feynman after graduation. When it comes to
graduation, I aspire to embody the brilliance of Richard Feynman. As an alumnus of Bard, Feynman truly
embodied the essence of making learning fun. I love memorizing his quotes and following his study
routine. One such quote, I would like to say is, “It does not matter how beautiful your vision is, it does
not matter how smart you are. If it does not agree with experience, it's wrong”. This quote reminds me
of how Bard College offers endless opportunities for experimentation and exploration, which is what
learning is all about—trial and error.

I, Mati Ullah, belong to FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas). This statement may not hold much
weight, but what I am about to tell you may change your perspective. FATA is a semi-autonomous tribal
and rigid mountainous region in Pakistan. Residents here lack water and resources, whether health care,
education, or infrastructure. Residents are deprived of necessities of life but no one is helping them. The
people living here are deprived of water and other fundamental resources, including healthcare,
education, and infrastructure. The local community is suffering from a lack of basic resources, yet no
assistance is being offered to them.
I think firmly believe that these people, like everyone else, have the right to live a better quality of life
and enjoy their lives instead of facing difficulties during this short lifetime. They have the right to receive
a better-quality education and be able to contribute to the betterment of the world. As everyone has
the basic needs of life and their fulfillment makes life easier but the one who lacks is suffering in his life
and they are the victims at this time.
Seeing this situation, I found myself a compassionate empathetic person and decided to help whoever is
in trouble; however, I could not do anything, other than raising my voice for my people through social
media. I have developed a sense of love and respect for all human beings, and I would love to help the
downtrodden and give them their right to demand things and change things for the betterment of their
lives. I want to pounce on this opportunity to make a difference in my community and become a symbol
of inspiration for the hapless people of my community.

Qs. What are you looking for in a university, why do you want to attend Baylor, and how do you see
yourself contributing to the Baylor community? (450)

The world is developing rapidly and I think we all know that AI will play an important role in the future.
Chat GPT has added to my curiosity about AI, computing, and software development. In my opinion,
only Baylor College can help me quench the thirst of my curiosity. I like how Baylor College offers game
development courses under Dr. Matthew-Fendt, which I am more than excited to attend. I am sure that
such small development projects will add to my experience. Since childhood, I have been instructed to
change the hard-wiring of my computer as well as all the software I downloaded and I am pretty sure
that I would be more than happy to do it.
Baylor College also has a reputation for outdoor activities that resonate with my athletic lifestyle. My
current school does not offer such great opportunities but I am sure McLean Stadium will not regret
hosting me. To add to this, as a student on a limited budget, I have the option of not paying for any of
these activities. Baylor's traditions appeal to me on a personal level. I would love to meet Joy and Lady
and be a part of the Baylor Chamber of Commerce.
As much as I love all outdoor activities, I can confidently claim that I cannot compromise on academics.
In a world where everyone wants to be financially strapped, I feel like Baylor has a fascinating internship
offer for Computer Science students where they get paid while also getting the full experience. These
paid internships can make a profound difference in our lifestyle as students.
I like to highlight some of my support for this close-knit Baylor community. I would love to compete in
sports and make history repeat itself by winning another Big 12 football championship. I hope I will
enlighten you with my enthusiasm in the field of software development for the greater good of the
college.

Playing sports in school meant a lot to me. Beyond grades, I just wanted to join in and have fun with
others. But every time I went to ground, I sat alone or ran by myself. No one was letting me be a part of
their team. It often made me feel ashamed and dejected. As a teenager who had the desire to stay fit, it
was hard. I felt left out and struggled with the frustration of not being part of the sports community.
During our school sports week, I had a strong passion for hockey, finding it challenging and rewarding.
Our house hockey team lacked an athlete so the captain was compelled to include me in the team.
Despite the delayed opportunity, my enthusiasm and energy proved valuable as I played a key role as a
defender, contributing to our team's success. The principal of the school, who was the chief guest,
publicly praised and encouraged me in front of the entire college. The steps I took to manage the
situation were ultimately successful, as I could showcase my prowess and contribute to the success of
the team while getting recognition from the school principal.
That one match changed my destiny in sports. Sports, a great stress reliever, are my way of keeping
calm. I aspire to play for the university sports team and share my experience with my peers and hope to
play an instrumental role in the success of the team.

Education works in the world the same as the light works in the darkness. It overcame illiteracy and
found a way to live a happy life but acquiring a good education in these conditions has become very
difficult for many in the world.
In my whole family, I am the one who aspires to receive a top-notch education from internationally
renowned/esteemed institutions and get involved in the community that seeks to improve and bring a
positive change in the world.
Along with that, I have always been a brilliant student who has been receiving good grades during my
education and has been making my teachers proud. I have always maintained excellent academic
records throughout my school time and got scholarships which helped me to continue my studies.
Currently, I am studying in one of the most prestigious schools of Pakistan at a fully funded scholarship
for high achievers. Had I not secured this financial assistance, it would have been nearly impossible for
me to study at this institution.
It is my hard work, perseverance, punctuality, and consistency that made me secure a scholarship to
such a reputable institution in my home country. I believe nothing can distract me from my dreams and
vision because I am keenly focused on my goal.
My passion is to receive the highest level of education with standards from an internationally recognized
institution. However, financial constraints prevent me from pursuing these goals. My father’s business,
which is going through a lean patch, coupled with the deteriorating economic conditions of my country,
has made it difficult for my family to even meet the basic necessities of life.
In such circumstances, it is extremely difficult to attend the world’s most prestigious university without
receiving a good scholarship, rather than living in a remote and underdeveloped part of Pakistan where
access to excellent education is a far cry. Getting a good scholarship from Truman State university will
help me to pursue my career, continue my studies at such a renowned institution in the world, and work
for a better future.
Bowdoin College
Due to lack of educational facilities in my hometown, I was forced to leave my home and live with
diverse peers in another city at the age of thirteen. Along with quality education, I found myself with
friends from different regions and cultures, which allowed me to embrace pluralism and inclusivity.
Instead of looking for problems in other cultures, I learned to appreciate the beauty and diversity that
exists in that culture.
Being around a diverse circle of people was an opportunity to improve my way of thinking about
different cultures and gain a better understanding of the world. Learning about new cultures and
traditions is one of my favorite activities because I find it so rewarding. It improves communication and
interaction and gives you the skills to live happily in different communities.
Adapting to the community is something that makes you feel like you are at home in all lands. It makes
life easier and allows you to share your skills and experiences with different people. It fosters love,
respect, and compassion for one another and creates a sense of unity with our global community. It's
about celebrating differences and finding common ground to build bridges of understanding. So let's
embrace the world and all its wonders together and make the world a more peaceful and loving place
for each other.
