Job Title: Store Officer

Job Summary: The job description of a Store Officer in the institute for developing Science and Health
initiatives (ideSHi) includes a range of responsibilities related to managing and maintaining inventory,
supplies, and equipment necessary for the smooth functioning of the laboratory as well as the institute.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
 Maintain accurate records of all laboratory and institutional inventory including
chemicals, reagents, equipment, and consumables.
 Monitor inventory levels and initiate procurement processes to replenish stock as needed.
 Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
 Implement inventory control measures to prevent loss, damage, or theft.
2. Storage and Organization:
 Ensure proper storage conditions for all laboratory materials, including adherence to
safety protocols and regulations.
 Organize storage areas to maximize efficiency and accessibility through maintaining
register books (online and offline), applying data management system (e.g.: LIMS)
properly.
 Implement proper labeling and tracking systems to facilitate easy retrieval of items.
 Dispose of expired or unused materials according to established protocols.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
 Maintain comprehensive records of all transactions, including purchases, receipts, and
withdrawals even all email or communication records.
 Generate reports on inventory levels, procurement activities, and budget utilization as
required.
 Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to laboratory supplies and
equipment.
4. Compliance and Safety:
 Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines pertaining to
laboratory materials and equipment.
 Monitor safety data sheets (SDS) for hazardous materials and ensure proper handling,
storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
 Collaborate with laboratory management and safety officers to address any safety or
compliance issues.
5. Team Collaboration:
 Work closely with laboratory staff to understand their requirements and provide
necessary support.
 Communicate effectively with researchers, technicians, and administrative personnel to
coordinate procurement activities and address concerns.
 Collaborate with other departments such as finance, administration, and facilities
management as needed.
6. Management Obligation:
 He will be bound to work wherever he feels required as per the needs of the organization.
 In such a case, his excuse from any corner will not be considered.

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, business administration,
or a scientific discipline.
2. Prior experience in inventory management, procurement, or logistics, preferably in a laboratory
or research setting.
3. Knowledge of laboratory operations, including familiarity with scientific equipment and
materials.
4. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and inventory management software
(e.g.: LIMS).
7. Understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to laboratory environments.
8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
9. Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
