A. Using cat 6E cable
Connecting two or more pc’s using CAT 6E cable through a SWITCH.
To connect the devices firstly connect a CAT 6E cable from the switch to the PC’S (for one pc
one cable) after securing the plug of the CAT 6E cable through the switch and the pc’s Ethernet
port, Go to the CONTROL PANEL and access NETWORK AND INTERNET and then click on
NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER then access the UNIDENTIFYED NETWORK through

Ethernet then click on PROPERTIES after that double click on INTERNET PROTOCOL
VERSION 4(TCP/IPv4) and at last configure the IP address.
Do this for either of the PC’S or the rest of the PC’S that are connected to the SWITCH then
PING each other through CMD, after that go to MY FILES, NETWORKS and make the network
private. Then give the pc’s administration password and username to the other pc’s end user
vice versa to access the files that you either of the person wants.

Step1. Connecting the pcs to the switch


Step2 .addressing a ping
Step 3.Then ping the other device through CMD.

Step4. Make the network private by saying (No, make it private network)

Step5. And lastly share the file that you want.


Double click the file you want click on GIVE ACCESS then SPECIFIC PEOPLE and ADD EVERYONE
and share it.

B.Steps for connecting computers wirelessly


For this connection we are going to take two pcs and a mobile (for the hotspot) it can be a
modem as an example.
1. First connect your PC’S to the created hotspot

2. Give an IP address for each of the PC’S


Inside the control panel CLICK NETWORK AND INTERNET then NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER after
that Wi-Fi (THE Wi-Fi name) then PROPERTIES then double click INTERNET
PROTOCOL VERSION 4 (TCP/IPV4) after that give it the IP that you need. Do this for the second PC.

3. Then ping the other pc using there IP through CMD


Syntax:- ping (eg.192.168.125.1)

4. Make the network private

Get into MY FILE then NETWORK when you do click on the computer and device are not
visible. click to change … then click TURN ON NETWORK DISCOVERY AND FILE SHARING
then make it NO MAKE IT PRIVATE.

5. Share a file
a. Give the other person him/her at the end of the other PC your administration NAME
and PASSWORD.
Or,
b. Give the other person him/her at the end of the other PC your administration NAME
and PASSWORD then share the specific file you want to send.
To do that left click on the file you want to share then click on give access then specific
people then add everyone and make it read and write then finally share.
2. PEER-TO-PEER COMMUNICATION
Connect two pc’s using CAT 6E cable
All the steps of switch and pc’s except now the cable is connected directly to the pc there is no
intermediary. So First connect the pc’s using cat 6e cable through there Ethernet port and,
Go to the CONTROL PANEL and access NETWORK AND INTERNET and then click on NETWORK
AND SHARING CENTER then access the UNIDENTIFYED NETWORK through

Ethernet then click on PROPERTIES after that double click on INTERNET PROTOCOL
VERSION 4(TCP/IPv4) and at last configure the IP address.
Do this for either of the PC’S then PING each other through CMD, after that go to MY FILE,
NETWORKS and make the network private. Then give the pc’s administration password and
username to the other pc’s end user vice versa to access the files that you either of the person
wants.
