EG Module 2 Questions

The document provides instructions for drawing projections of various 3D solids. It includes 9 problems describing solids like cones, prisms, and pyramids in different orientations and asking to draw their projections. The problems include details like dimensions and angles of inclination needed to fully draw the projections.

Module 2

Projection of Solids

(All of you Must do first 2 set of figures. The third set is optional for those
who want to get full mark 20)-Complete on or before May 6th

1. A cone with base diameter 40 mm and axis 60 mm long touches the VP on a point of its
base circle. The axis is inclined at 300 to VP and the front view of its axis inclined at 450
to XY line. Draw its projections.
2. A triangular prism of base edge 30 mm and height 50 mm is resting on one of its base
edges on HP and that base edge is inclined 40 degrees to VP. Draw the projections of the
solid if the axis is inclined at 40 degrees to HP. Top end face of the solid is away from
VP and right side of the viewer.
3. A square pyramid of base edge 30 mm and the height 60 mm is resting on HP on its
triangular face such that the square face edge on HP is inclined 300 to VP. Draw its
projections
4. A pentagonal prism 30 mm base edge and 60 mm height is on HP on one of its base
edges so that the axis is inclined at 450 with HP and the base edge on which it rests is
inclined at 300 with VP. Draw the projections of the solid.
5. A square pyramid of base 25 mm. side and axis 60 mm long, has a corner of the base on
the ground such that the square base is inclined at 30° to the ground and the two base
edges containing that corner are equally inclined to HP. Draw the projections of the
pyramid if its axis is inclined at 60° to the VP.
6. A cylinder 40 mm diameter and 50 mm axis is resting on a point of its base circle on VP
while its axis makes 45o with VP and front view of the axis makes 35o with XY line.
Draw its projections
7. A pentagonal pyramid of base edge 30 mm and axis length 60 mm is resting on VP on
one of its base edges. The axis of the pyramid is inclined at 350 to VP and the resting base
edge is inclined at 450 to HP. Draw the projection of the pyramid.
8. A right circular cone, 40 mm base diameter and 60 mm long axis is resting on HP on one
point of base circle such that its axis makes 45o inclination with HP and 40o inclination
with VP. Draw its projections.
9. A cone of base diameter 50 mm and axis length 60 mm is resting on VP on one of its
generators with the front view of the axis inclined at 40o to HP. Draw its projections.
