Objectives
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to give some reasons based on the pictures with
guidance.
Activities
1.Teacher asks a volunteer to pick a word card and mime the activity. Asks pupils to guess by asking some
questions and encourage them to answer in complete sentence.
2. Teacher writes the the questions and answers on the whiteboard.
3. directs ppls attention to the grammar box SB page 42. Read the questions and the answer out loud and
have ppls to repeat.
4. Pupils refers to activity 1- SB page 42. Have pupils to repeat and exchange chorally(CD1 – Track 63). Pupils
chorally repeat the exchange
5.Divides ppls into pairs, distributes worksheet and ppls take turns answering questions about the children
in the pictures.
6.Pupils first ask if it is a boy or a girl and what the child is going to do.

1.Teacher asks pupils to refer SB pg 40.
2. Pupils read the text and highlight new words. Write these words on the board.
3. Write China and The US on the board. Ask pupils to read the text and say if it is about China or the US.
4.Ppls read the sentences 1-7 and tick the correct celebration in activity 2.
5. Have ppls compare their answers in pairs and check as class.

1.Teacher asks pupils to think about an upcoming celebration (national or personal) and tell their
partner what their plans are.
2. Use the model diary entry SB pg 43 to highlight the use of conjunctions (e.g. and/but/because)
and reference pronouns (he/she/we/it, etc)..
3. Teacher distributes worksheet .Refer writing tip and teacher guides the pupils to write a diary
entry for an upcoming celebration with neat cursive writing.
