Past continuous

● En este caso utilizaremos el “was y were”, por lo tanto, significa “estaba”, y da a conocer la
acción que “estaba haciendo” una persona.
● Al igual que en el presente continuo el verbo va con el “ing” al final.

● La estructura de la oración es la misma que en el presente continuo.

● Los sujetos llevan los mismos auxiliares “was y were” como en el past simple.

AFFIRMATIVE / Afirmativo

Pronombre + Auxiliar + verbo + ing + complemento

EXAMPLE /Ejemplo:

A) I was studying english.


yo estaba estudiando ingles
B) You were playing soccer.
tu estabas jugando futbol

NEGATIVE / Negativo

Pronombre + Auxiliar + “NOT” + verbo + ing complemento

A) HE was NOT (wasn’t) watching tv.


el no estaba viendo tv
B) They were not (weren’t) staying in that hotel
ellos no estaban quedandose en ese hotel

INTERROGATIVE / Interrogativa

Auxiliar + Pronombre + verbo + ing + complemento+?

A) Were we singing to loud?


estabamos nosotros cantando muy alto?
B) Was she knocking the door?
ella estaba tocando la puerta?
� Sabiendo todo lo anterior vamos a ver los ejercicios.
