About Us:

Jabalpur Engineering College formerly known as Government Engineering College was

established on 7th July 1947. JEC out grew when the entire Global chess board was
witnessing a dramatic change. It was born just after a few months before India broke the
cycles of British slavery. This illustrious institution called the destination of being the
second engineering college in India and is the premier Institution of Engineering education.
Central India thanks to the inspired vision of the great pioneering principle Dr. S.P.
Chakrawarty. From a very small room in old Robertson college this tiny icon has gone into
a mighty Oak tree which is now 75 years old and a celebrated his diamond jubilee in the
way 2007.

Department of Civil engineering and Electrical engineering are NBA accredited for 3
years and other branches also under process which processor mettle among other
colleges in Madhya Pradesh.

The college since its inception has a well-equipped High Voltage laboratory and
telecommunication department which was not available in any other contemporary
colleges. Even before the advent of
television in the country telecommunication lab established in this college. The former has
been made us some of the centres of excellence by government of India in recognition of
its contribution in High Voltage Research and testing. It is getting grant from Government
of India to further research and development activities. The college has the destination of
being the first in India to offer B.E degree in Electronics and telecommunication
Engineering.

Jabalpur Engineering College in 75 years of glorious

existence has carved a unique nation for itself in the annals
of technical education in M.P. The college since its Inception
has a well-equipped High voltage laboratory and several
other well advance Laboratories. Since then, the college
achieved several milestones living up to its Motto "Onwards
On Wings".

Very recently the Institution has proved its mettle by

becoming a lead institution under Technical Education
quality improvement program (TEQIP). We have added one
more feather in our cap by achieving Academic autonomy.

I am confident that the graduating engineers will strive to

build India a nation which will be proud of her independence,
powerful in her defence and self-reliant in industry &
technology. I close my message with a saying from the
Theodore Roosevelt “Far and away the best prize that life
offers is the change to work hard at work worth doing".

Training and placement cell is a backbone of any institute which is

committed to develop dynamics strong human values technocratic
and good leadership qualities as per the needs of rapidly
changing Technology working with a strategy-oriented planning.
This cell apart from the normal placement activities have a
frequent personal interaction with the students and understand
and realize their problems better and try to solve effectively and
boosting their confidence in every aspect.

This institute have a full flash training and placement cell to look
after training and placement activities which also provides the
official support base for placement of final year students in the
form of arranging campus interviews, grooming students to face
the final test of their knowledge. We started grooming our
students through training programs and it has always been
beneficial for the students due to which the placements have been
increasing day by day. We equip our students by providing
Aptitude Test, Group discussion round and Personal interview
training with right talent and personality to face the industry
requirements. By this comprehensive program our students are
meeting at satisfying the Expectations of the industries.

Platinum Jubilee:

Recently on 7th July 2021, JEC Completed its glorious journey of 74 years. On
this occasion Our beloved Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chauhan
Inaugurated a year long Amrit Mahotsav celebration. Here are some glimpse &
announcements of the day.

On this day our Honourable CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced that two
more
degrees course: Artificial intelligence and Mechatronics will be started from 2021-
22.
Honourable CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan met Defence Minster Mr. Rajnath Singh
and acquaint him about oldest engineering college of Madhya Pradesh, JEC
Jabalpur, and
request him to start M. Tech courses with the help of DRDO.
CEO of Brahmos & Honourable alumnus of JEC Mr. Sudhir Kumar Mishra
announced that a real model of Brahmos missile & MIG 21 will be planted in
college
campus. Which will be helpful for student to study real working model of these.
Incubation Centre:

On the occasion of Platinum Jubilee CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan

inaugurated
Incubation Centre in College.
Through the incubation centre, students gain hands-on experience in innovation
and entrepreneurship while being nurtured and encouraged y faculty,
management and
industry experts. It hopes to bring forth a revolution in how and what students
learn
and achieve while in college.
A startup incubator is a collaborative program for startup companies-usually
physically located in one central workspace, designed to help startups in their
infancy
succeed by providing workspace, seed funding, mentoring, and training. You’re

Aureole:

The technical-cum-cultural Festival of JEC Jabalpur is the best exhibition of management

and organizational skills of the students. The internationally recognized event is very popular
among the students all over the state. The students’ active participation in cultural, technical
and literary competitions has made it a grand success.

Helix:

Helix is the techno-management fest organized by the students of JEC Jabalpur

with a motto of providing a platform to the technical enthusiasts os our country to
explore, innovate and showcase their technical and engineering skills. Helix
started in 2011 and over the past 3 years it has gradually evolved from an inter-
college festival to one of the most recognized techno-management.
National Cadet Corps (NCC):
NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC) the NCC
platoons of JEC, have been consistently taking
up various activities to fulfil not only the basic
requirements of NCC training but also to the
needs of the society in particular & the nation
in general. JEC, NCC unit is one of the four
technical units in M.P. There are two platoons
EME & Engineers which have 53 cadets each.
During the session 2009-10 two NCC camps were
organized in our college campus.

AAVAHAN (Sports Fest of JEC):

JEC hosts its annual sports fest, where 7
teams of different branches compete for 3
days in 15 sports to bag the first prize and
prove their superiority over other.

College provides excellent facilities for many

sports. Its campus consists of a playground
an
Indoor Basketball court, Volleyball Ground,
T.T Tables & a tennis Court which
encourage
students to participate in different sports.

Sports
persons are given incentives in terms of
certificates, cash prizes & trophies. Special
coaching is organized for players selected to
represent college at various sports events.
