a short note
If you know me, you know that I have a lot of
thoughts about everything, and I love to talk
about and share these thoughts with others. This
often manifests in things like: waxing poetic,
excitedly info-dumping about the things I am
passionate about, and writing many short essays
for the program of my junior recital.
For this recital, however, I decided against trying
to explain every thought and feeling behind why I
picked this music and instead leave interpretation
up to you, the audience.
There are times to speak every thought and
notion, and there are times to let things just be,
without the confines of one definition.
I hope as you watch and listen, you consider how
this music makes you feel. What does it mean to
you? Which pieces do you relate to most? Would
you consider this music to be genius?
Thank you for being here and taking the time to
experience this senior recital with me.
I hope you enjoy!
Love,
Saylem
