The foundation for any successful venture is laid out not just by the individual accomplishing
the task, but also by several other people who believe that the individual can excel and put in
their every bit in every endeavor he/she embarks on, at every stage in life. And the success is
derived when opportunity meets preparation, also supported by a well-coordinated approach
and attitude.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the respected principal Dr. T N Sreenivasa,
for providing a congenial environment to work in. I also like to express my sincere gratitude
to Dr. Aishwarya P, Head of Department, Computer Science, for her continuous support and
encouragement.

I am indeed indebted to, coordinator and guide for his continued support, advice and valuable
inputs during the course of this internship work.
Last, but not the least I would like to thank my family, who has acted as a beacon of light
throughout my life.
My sincere gratitude goes out to all my comrades and well-wishers who have supported me
through all the ventures.
This internship at Atria Institute of Technology was a two-day internship
program. It aimed in training the students and bridge the gap between our
academic knowledge and the requirements of the present market. It included a
two-certificate course training program that included few basic concepts from
fundamentals of process mining followed by the detailed explanation of their
tool, Execution Management System (EMS). We were briefed with the
pre-requisites as to why it was required to be learnt and it’s practical application
by the senior manager of Celonis India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Manjunath.

His in-detail explanation of the market trends and the upcoming fashion
of the industry gave us an insight into various technologies that are a hot topic
and are used in completing projects for their company and their leading
partners. Various new techniques and easier way to learn and get the complete
knowledge about the topic was imparted. In this course we learned how to use
their process tool in detail

This internship included not only the technical benefits but added on to
contribute further in my personal development and gave in a lifelong memory to
cherish.
CHAPTER 1

ABOUT THE COMPANY

1.1 Introduction
Celonis is a German data processing company that offers software as a service (SaaS) to
improve business processes. It is headquartered in Munich, Germany. Celonis is
the global leader in execution management. The Celonis Execution Management
System (EMS) provides companies a modern way to run their business processes
entirely on data and intelligence.

1.2 History of the company

● Celonis was founded in 2011 by Alex Rinke, Bastian Nominacher, and Martin Klenk as
a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich.
● In 2012, Celonis joined the SAP Startup Focus program, an accelerator for
analytics startups building new applications on the SAP HANA platform.
● In July 2015, Celonis signed a reseller agreement with SAP. It has since been
offered by SAP as Celonis Process Mining by SAP. It was the first company
from the SAP Startup Focus program to sign a reseller agreement with SAP.
● It has its headquarters in Munich, Germany and currently houses over 3000+
employees.
● Celonis is the first commercial process mining company.

1.3 Products and Services


Celonis provides Process Mining and Execution Management Software. The Celonis EMS helps
you not just understand your processes, but to run your entire business on data and
intelligence. It provides capabilities for Real-Time Data Ingestion, Process and Task Mining,
Planning and Simulation, Visual and Daily Management, and Action Flows. The EMS tool
provides the following services:

● Process and Task Mining
● Planning and Simulation
● Action Flows
● Daily and Visual Management

The company aims to revive businesses by bettering their processes with


increased revenue and lower process cycles.
It provides a plethora of services to companies dealing with banking, utilities, consumer
goods, healthcare, insurance, public sector, telco, retail and many more.
Some notable customers of Celonis are- Johnson&Johnson, Dell, iFood, KraftHeinz,
Lufthansa, ABB, Vodafone and Uber.

The track "Process Mining Fundamentals for Students" gives you encompassing insights into
both the theoretical and applied foundations around Process Mining.
