Description and uses A Professional, self sealing alkyd flat enamel for all interior surfaces including plaster,
brick, wall-board, cement, wallpaper, wood, etc…. It’s excellent for new or previously
painted surfaces where wash ability is essential. It’s ideal for use on residential, commercial
and institutional interior and exterior surfaces. It has excellent, hiding power, application,
and touch up properties. Advantages include an extremely durable, long wearing quality
that produces a rich smooth appearance which is truly washable and resists moisture and
wear without yellowing or losing color.

Application condition: Temperature: (air surface and material): 50°F-100°F or (10°C-38°C)
At least 5°F above the dew point Relative humidity: 85% maximum
Method of application: Mix paint thoroughly by boxing and stirring.
Thinning: add no more than one quart of Dutch Boy® Mineral spirits for 1 gallon
1 Quart = 0.95 liters
OLD SURFACES: Surface must be free of all loose and foreign matter. Cracks and gouges
should be cleaned and repaired with appropriate putty. After putty has been left to dry
overnight, sand lightly and spot prime with Wall Primer 50 or undercoat 55/57/60 on wood,
concrete and plaster surfaces and with an anti-corrosion metal primer (Rust Beater 1020,
Zinc Chromate 1040, or Zinc Phosphate 1050/55/57/60) on metal surfaces. Allow to dry
overnight. After adequate surface preparation, proceed as with new surfaces.
NEW SURFACES: New surfaces should be sanded smooth and wiped clean with a damp
cloth. One coat of primer should be applied, diluted depending on surface porosity, followed
by one or more coats of Flat Alkyd Enamel.
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Glossy surfaces must be dulled by sanding then
wiped clean with a damp cloth. Any detergent used to clean surfaces must be removed
completely by rinsing. Imperfections should be repaired as aforementioned in the
preparation of old surfaces. One coat of Flat Alkyd Enamel will usually suffice over old
surfaces that are in good condition except when used over a sharply contrasted color. In this
case and if the surface is very porous two coats are required allowing 6-8hours drying time
between the two coats under normal conditions or preferably overnight.
Application Tools: This product may be applied by any of the following recommended methods:
1. Airless spray: Pressure: 2000PSI Filter: 60mesh Tip: 0.015˝-0.017˝
2. Conventional spray:
Gun: Bink 18 gun or equivalent equipment.
Air Pressure: 40-60psi
Fluid pressure: 20psi
Fluid/air nozzle: 704/FX
Normally no reduction required
3. Brush: Bristle brush
4. Roller: Use a 3/8″ – 3/4″ synthetic, or lambs wool roller cover.

• In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with large amounts of water for 15 minutes and get medical
attention.
• In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
• For respiratory difficulty, provide fresh air and call physician.
If ingested seek medical attention immediately.
Clean up: Clean up tools with mineral spirits following supplier’s safety recommendations.
