Topic 6 DQ 2

Feedback is among the most effective teaching and learning strategies, paramount to

learning progress. High-quality feedback is specific, constrictive, meaningful, and ongoing. It

helps determine the learner's understanding and skills development level and plan the next steps

to help them achieve their learning goals and objectives (Burgess et al., 2020). The feedback also

offers instructors and learners evidence of current knowledge and the level of achievement

reached. Through instructor feedback, I can reflect on my learning strategies and understanding

of course concepts and confirm that the changes have improved my learning and understanding. I

can locate feedback on my returned documents, mostly presented as commented and sometimes

written down in an explanatory manner on a word document on what parts the instructor

considers done exemplarily and which sections or concepts I need to review and do better to

enhance the quality and robustness of my papers. I like the comments the most because they are

specific.

Understanding feedback enhances my learning progress and skills development. I try my

best to understand the instructor's feedback, sometimes going back to the course materials to

review the concepts highlighted in the comments and other forms of feedback to bolster

understanding. After comprehending the feedback and what the instructor requires me to do to

improve my paper, I make necessary corrections and send them back to the instructor for

confirmation that the feedback achieved its intended purpose and improved learning and concept

understanding. When I do not understand the feedback, I often highlight the concepts mentioned

and review appropriate course materials and resources on these concepts. Sometimes I ask other

learners who might understand the feedback or engage more with the instructor to understand

what is required of me, what I should address, and how.
