Parallel construction
• it refers to two or more words, phrases, clauses, or
sentences that have similar forms or structures

• provides balance and it adds up to the cohesion of a


sentence or a paragraph

• it is when phrases in a sentence have similar or the


same grammatical structure

• provides a phrases with balance and clarity

Correct Parallelism

➢ Use the same verb, noun, adverb, or adjective to form


consistency throughout a sentence.

Example:

➢ Occurs when the items in the series of a sentence

Direction: Determine if the sentence is CORRRECT PARALLELISM or
FAULTY PARALLELISM. If the sentence is FAULTY PARALLELISM,
write the correct answer.
