Homework is an essential part of the learning process for students at PS 116.

It allows students to
practice and reinforce what they have learned in class, as well as prepare for upcoming lessons.
However, we understand that completing homework can be a challenging and time-consuming task
for students, especially with the increasing demands of school and extracurricular activities.

We want to ensure that our students have a positive and successful learning experience, which is
why we have established a homework policy that takes into consideration the needs and well-being
of our students.

Our Homework Policy

At PS 116, we believe that homework should be purposeful and meaningful. Our homework policy is
designed to support student learning and growth, while also promoting a healthy balance between

Our homework policy includes the following guidelines:

Homework will be assigned on a regular basis, with a focus on quality over quantity.
Homework assignments will be aligned with the curriculum and learning objectives.
Homework will be differentiated to meet the needs of individual students.
Students will be given a reasonable amount of time to complete their homework.
Homework will be reviewed and feedback will be provided to students.
Parents/guardians will be informed of the homework expectations and are encouraged to
support their child's learning.

The Challenges of Homework

We understand that completing homework can be a struggle for some students. It can be
overwhelming and time-consuming, especially for those who have other responsibilities and
