“A Tsunami”

Painfully, the force of the wave knocked me back a few feet. Suddenly the sandy
ground below me began to tremble. As the tide at the beach began to pull out into
the salty aqua sea I realized what was happening, a tsunami was coming. A
tsunamis that caused by violent seafloor movement associated with earthquakes,
landslide, and lava entering the sea, seamount collapse, or meteorite impact. The
most common cause is earthquakes. Many different causes that may effect.
D. Discussion of New CAUSE AND EFFECT
Concepts
Cause is a source or producer of effects.
- To determine the cause, ask the question what happens first or why the
event happened.

Effect is the results of the cause.


- To determine the effect, ask the question what happens second or what
was the result.

Direction: Read the story below and fill in the missing causes and effects.

Early in the morning Bob the dog like to play with his bone.
It was hot outside so Bob went to play under a tree. A bird
in the tree started to sing very loud. It hurt Bob’s ears so he
walked away. It started to rain and Bob got wet. Bob went
into his doghouse to get out of the rain.
