and accessories to help the surgeons make surgery more simple, less invasive and
safe for the patient. This long history of experience combined together with the tech-
nology of today, has given us the privilege to be a world leader in this sector, with

Life in your operating theatre
OPT SurgiSystems Team is proud to present our new operating table VITA. It is a mo-
bile system with fixed table top suitable for all surgical disciplines.
VITA means “Life” and with nearly 100 years of experience OPT has developed this
operating system to bring “OPT Life“ into the operating theatres.
OPT VITA has been studied using its life-long experience to be user-friendly and suita-
ble for all needs in the operating rooms, but above all, to be safe and comfortable for
the patient. Safety isn’t a slogan, it’s a way of life!
VITA, together with the help of surgeons and OR assistants, is made to be practical,
functional and able to cope with the everyday demands required in any operating
theatre.
Three fundamental guidelines have been followed in the design of the table:
1. Care for the patient: VITA ensures maximum comfort even in case of long last-
ing interventions. Patient’s comfort and safety is guaranteed thanks to memory
foam, anti-decubitus, visco-elastic cushions with a thickness of 80/90 mm, which
have smooth electrical movements during the positioning.
2. Care for OR operators: VITA fulfills all the requirements of various surgical disci-
plines. The patient positioning is precise and immediate thanks to the modularity
of the table top. Like all OPT tables, VITA has a unique Fix Torque system for easy
adding and removing of the sections.
3. Care for hospitals: VITA is designed for the global market in order to satisfy clin-
ical needs and to meet the requirements of modern theatres ensuring cost-effec-
tive management. It allows organizing a better logistics in the multidisciplinary
operating rooms and a smarter space management. As all of OPT products, VITA
has been made to give a strong and long life of the product.

A SMART operating table.
Making the complex things simply
Simplicity VITA makes life in an OR easier and safer for both staff and patients. It has automatic
support system such as anti-collision safety system, which prevents collision of the
table top with the floor. This feature allows the user to make any required position
safely. Furthermore, the innovative Fix Torque system enables to hook/unhook the
sections of the operating table in a secure and rapid way and in a single movement
without using additional clamps or locks.
Modularity The operating table VITA has a modular central section to which numerous sections
and universality (elongation plates, head and leg sections) can be attached. Moreover, a wide range of
accessories is available for the table, so that every surgical discipline can be satisfied
with a single table top.
Agility and VITA has been designed for dynamic Operating Theatres. The table is universal and
compatibility multidisciplinary, easy to manage and to provide all of the movements.
Operating table VITA is compatible with all the OPT accessories, sections and elon-
gation plates. This allows a significant reduction of costs and storage spaces.
Radiolucency The table is completely radiolucent on its entire length. Thanks to the longitudinal
shift (350 mm) a rational and easy use of the C-Arm and the realization of radiogra-
phies are available on all the length of the table top. The longitudinal shift is greater
than the column length so there is no need to move the patient. A wide range of car-
bon fibre sections applied on the central module allows for a 360° radiolucency.
Technology VITA has been designed with technological solutions that meet the needs of both sur-
geon and patient. To achieve the best performance in terms of safety, VITA offers the
possibility to set different security protocols according to the specific requirements
of the surgical operation. VITA can also memorize various surgical positions that
can be recalled by the operator anytime.

OPERATING Universality and flexibility in one table
TABLE
VITA is a state-of-the-art product in its category in terms of aesthetic and innovative
criteria, rationality in each detail, safety and versatility. It is a universal operating ta-
ble, which is suitable for all surgical specialties including traumatology.
Ergonomics The table has been designed to simplify the daily activities of the OR staff and to in-
crease the patients’ safety and comfort in order to prevent injuries caused by decubitus.
The base of the table is compact and has a small footprint in order to allow a better
access to the operating area.
The distance between the various table top sections is reduced to the minimum for a
better patient’s comfort during the table positioning.
Modularity VITA has a modular table top which is compatible with numerous components (elon-
gation plates, head and leg sections). The sections can be hooked/unhooked on both
sides of the table top thanks to the innovative Fix Torque system. This enables a
quick and easy configuration of the table according to the surgical specialty.
The table top can adapt to different patient’s sizes and thanks to a wide range of ac-
cessories it allows a better patient positioning.

MOBILITY Precision in movement
Maneuverability The operating table VITA has a simple and practical maneuverability and is complete-
ly safe thanks to 4 swiveling casters. They allow an easy control of the table even in
narrow spaces. The casters have a special cover that protects from accidental im-
pacts and infiltration. A 5th mechanical wheel (optional) ensures smooth and easy
move of the table.
Stability VITA allows to block/unblock the wheels by pressing dedicated buttons on the re-
mote control.
A pin system (one for each wheel), through an electro-hydraulic system, blocks the
table in a safe and stable way for every surgical position.
Moreover, thanks to the VITA Safety System, during the procedure, the table remains
blocked on the pins in a safe position and this allows finishing the procedure inde-
pendently from the status of the hydraulic system.
Electrical 5th wheel The operating table VITA can be supplied with a 5th electrical and retractable wheel.
It allows the user to move comfortably and safely the table in case of long transfers or
even in case of bariatric patients’ transportation. This motorized wheel can be acti-
vated by wired remote control.

CONTROL Total control of the table in one hand
SYSTEMS
Wired and wireless remote All electrical movements of the operating table VITA (including self-levelling) can be
controls with display controlled by wireless or wired remote controls. Thanks to a wide LCD touch screen
display, users always have a clear control of the table status and functions.
The bidirectional communication of the remote with the column allows the display to
obtain quickly various information and to activate all functions of the table.
The main features of the wireless and wired remote controls with LCD display are:
• Combined buttons of some movements that can be recognized even by touch
• Saving of 32 customized surgical positions that can be recalled anytime
• Setting and selection of safety protocols for bariatric surgery
• Visualisation of all electrohydraulic movements and movement degrees
• Indications/setting of the table top reverse
• Visualization of the charging status of both remote control and table batteries
• Information on operating table status and warning through descriptive message
alarms
• Information on the operating table use
• Setting of customized parameters of the operating table
The remote controls have intuitive graphic symbols in order to make their use imme-
diate and extremely simple even for less experienced users. Each button is backlit and
therefore the remote control can be used even with soft lights.

Remote control features VITA remote controls have a STOP button to block instantly any movement. Moreo-
ver, remote controls have a LOCK/UNLOCK button to block temporarily all the key-
board.
Each remote control can be connected to a specific table VITA through a simple and
quick binding procedure. Every remote control can activate only one table at a time
thus avoiding any interference with other operating tables.
In addition, VITA remote controls have an exclusive button to memorize instantane-
ously a specific table position that can be recalled by a user any time.
Integrated control panel OPT VITA column has an integrated control panel that can be used as an emergency
control. It can activate all the movements of the column and of the table top without
the use of wired / wireless remote controls.
Foot switch VITA can be controlled by a foot switch with three pedals. It controls three elec-
tro-hydraulic movements: height variation, longitudinal shift and lateral tilt of the
table top.

To ensure an optimal exposure of the surgical site, VITA offers the opportunity to
reach various surgical positions with respect to the safety and comfort of both patient
and user.
VITA has all electro-hydraulic movements completely independent one from one
another.

Noise reduction and VITA movements are extremely silent in order not to distract surgeons and OR staff
fluidity in movement during the intervention. Moreover, the movements are extremely fluid and thus in-
creasing the patient’s comfort and safety.

CUSHIONS The comfortable choice
All the VITA cushions are soft, radiolucent, antistatic, anti-decubitus and easy to remove.
VITA table top and all its sections have two types of cushions, which can be ordered
depending on the surgical needs:
• Moulded cushions
• Memory foam visco-elastic cushions
Moulded cushions The moulded cushions with a thickness of 60/70 mm have a specific ergonomic
design. They have no seams or joins to allow the ingress of fluid and are easy to clean
thereby reducing the chances of cross infection.
The cushions are thicker in the center of each section for a better comfort of the patient.
Memory foam Memory foam visco-elastic cushions with a thickness of 80/90 mm are designed
visco-elastic cushions to reduce decubitus problems and to give maximum comfort to patients. These cush-
ions are suitable for long lasting interventions and reduce pressure sores.
Both types of cushions are latex free.
Cushion attachment system All the VITA sections have an easy cushion attachment system. Both moulded and
visco-elastic cushions are interchangeable. Therefore, the OR staff can choose which
type of cushion to use according to the needs of the surgical procedures.
This cushion attachment system simplifies the cleaning process and allows a fast
preparation of the table to the next intervention.

FEATURES
Modularity and flexibility
The extreme modularity of VITA increases the flexibility of the OR. For instance,
it allows changing the table configuration quickly and easily (table sections and
cushions) according to the required surgical discipline and thus adapting to the
OR staff needs.
Column all included
The column contains all the electrical and mechanical components,
including the power supply. Therefore, even in case of discharged
batteries, no external power supply can disturb the operators.
Base of minimum size
The base of VITA is ergonomic and ensures maximum stability and
practicality. This avoids collisions with the surgeon, OR personnel
and other devices (C-arms, etc.)
Anti-collision system
VITA has an anti-collision system of the table top that prevents from
crashes against the floor.

Central section of the table top
The central section of the table top is motorized on both sides (back and
legs). It does not need any additional electric section for the electro-hydraulic
movements and performs all surgical activities without the need of moving the
patient.
Attachment system
The innovative Fix Torque system allows to hook/unhook the sections
of the operating table in a safe and rapid way and in a single movement
without using additional clamps or locks.
Integrated remote panel
An integrated remote panel, placed at the base of the table,
allows performing all electrical movements of both column
and table top. In addition, there are luminous indicators of
the battery charge status and of the correct data transmission.
Mobility
The maneuverability of VITA is ensured by 4 swiveling casters
that allow easy control of the table even in narrow spaces.
Stability
VITA Safety System allows a secure table blocking during
the surgery. The system is controlled by wired / wireless re-
mote control or by integrated control panel. A pin system
(one for each wheel), through an electro-hydraulic system,
blocks the table in a safe and stable way for every surgical
position.

CONSTRUCTIVE The tradition of innovation
TECHNOLOGY
Constructive features The base and the column casing are made of stainless steel and noble materials of
the highest quality. The stainless steel is treated with electro-polished procedure
that ensures a longer life of the material and a safe table cleaning. After the elec-
tro-polishing procedure, the surface is smooth, shiny and more resistant to scratches
and bacterial agents. VITA does not have any painted or plastic parts.
Radiolucency VITA table top is completely radiolucent on its entire length, anterior-back direction
and without any shadow zones.
Thanks to the longitudinal shift of the table top (350 mm) a rational and easy use
of the C-Arm and the realization of radiographies are available on all its length. The
longitudinal shift is greater than the column length so there is no need to move the
patient. Wide range of carbon fibre sections applied on the central module allow for
a 360° radiolucency.

Unique attachment system All the sections of the table top VITA have a unique Fix Torque system.
This system allows to hook/unhook the sections in a secure and rapid way and in a
single movement without using additional clamps or locks.
Bariatric surgery The exceptional load capacity of VITA is 454 kg (1000lb).
Electro-polishing The electro-polishing procedure is currently the best technique for stainless steel
treatment. It ensures a longer life of the material and a simple cleaning of the table.
After the treatment the surface is smooth, shiny and more resistant to scratches and
bacterial agents.

TECHNOLOGY Full safety for operator and patient
AND SAFETY
Table top reverse VITA table allows the inversion of the table top. The patient’s orientation can be
changed by inverting leg section with the head section. The inversion can be also con-
trolled by wired or wireless remote controls. All of the electro-hydraulic movements
and commands will adjust according to the table top orientation.
Safe positioning of obese patients The user can set up several safety protocols according to the needs of the surgical
(safety protocols)
procedures and according to the patients’ weight or height.
Emergency systems DAE (Emergency Power Supply Device) is an external emergency device for VITA.
In case of failure in electronics, it provides all the movements of the table top,
the column and the wheels. Thanks to DAE it is possible to complete any surgical
intervention.
Integration systems VITA can be integrated with the main control systems for integrated OR thanks to
wireless communication protocols which comply with the most stringent regulatory
standards.

Anti-collision system VITA has an anti-collision safety system that can determine its dimensions and pre-
vents from crashes against the floor by blocking the movement and warns the user
about the wrong maneuvers.
Safety Safety is a prior focus of OPT in the development and design of all its products.
Attention is paid on the patient’s safety and tranquillity as well as on the safety of the
operators working in the OR. VITA has been designed according to passive safety
principles (a reliable, solid and efficient product) and to active safety principles
(devices that prevent and avoid any errors caused by misuse).
ISO Certification OPT SurgiSystems is a company with a Quality and Environmental Management Sys-
tem certified according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 14001:2015; this
allows OPT SurgiSystems to guarantee high standards in the design, manufacturing
and safety of its medical devices with an active participation in environmental pro-
tection.
The operating table VITA, manufactured by OPT SurgiSystems, is a medical device
that complies with Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR).
