Introduction:
Crime is a part of illegal activities in human life. It is quite obvious that the rate of crimes is
increasing day by day in all societies across the world, but we do believe that there is a lot which
can be done by both the governments and the individuals to reduce the crimes in communities.
The rise of population and complex society rises the range of anti-social conducts that must be
restricted by the government through the military and different organizations particularly the
Police Force. There are many current crime management systems which faces several
difficulties, as there is no means to report crime instantly other than phone calls, messaging or
face-to-face compliant filing. Hence, we have proposed an online crime reporting site which
allows the user to file complaints or missing reports and keep a track of it.

Objective of the project:

The Objective of Crime Reporting System is to develop a web based application using which
people can report crime online. It provides the facility of uploading images or videos of crime
scenes so that police can take action immediately. It also provides the information of missing
persons, most wanted criminals and safety tips for the awareness of people.

Scope of the Project:

It may help collecting perfect management in details. In a very short time, the collection will
be obvious, simple and sensible. It will help a person to know the management of passed year
perfectly and vividly. It also helps in current all works relative to Online Crime Reporting
System. It will be also reduced the cost of collecting the management & collection procedure
will go on smoothly. This website provides an architectural overview of crime management.
This web site is generic. A web-based tool that enables the user to manage the crime on tasks
completed as part of a project with tasks and sub-tasks. The tool includes interactivity,
Functionality, Information will be stored into a database.

Feasibility Study:
Feasibility study includes consideration of all the possible ways to provide a solution to the
given problem. The proposed solution should satisfy all the user requirements and should be
flexible enough so that future changes can be easily done based on the future upcoming
requirements.
A. Economic Feasibility : This is a very important aspect to be considered while developing a
project. We decided the technology based on minimum possible cost factor. All hardware and
software cost has to be borne by the organization.
Overall we have estimated that the benefits the organization is going to receive from the
proposed system will surely overcome the initial costs and the later on running cost for system.
B. Technical Feasibility:
This included the study of function, performance and constraints that may affect the ability to
achieve an acceptable system. For this feasibility study, we studied complete functionality to
be provided in the system, as described in the System Requirement Specification (SRS), and
checked if everything was possible using different type of frontend and backend froms.

Existing System and Proposed System:
Existing System:
Currently there is no online web application available to report crime online. In order to report
any complains related with crime, people has to contact nearest police station. People of the
particular city are not aware of crime related things such as list of Most wanted criminals of
their city, latest crime related news, missing persons of their area etc..People has to view News
Channels or Read News Paper for such crime related information. Thus we can say that existing
system is manual and does not provide all the information from one source.

Proposed System:
We here propose a criminal investigation tracker system that tracks the investigation status of
criminal cases with logs and also predicts primary suspects. The system is proposed to help
agencies like CBI, CID, and other such bureaus to speed up their investigation process and
track the status of multiple cases at a time. The system keeps logs of a case which includes a
case summary, people involved, disputes, past criminal history of those involved, items
recovered On-scene and other details. The system realizes the type of case, allows the admin
to update the status of the investigation, upload more images of crime and items found on the
scene, etc. the system allows authorized officers to check the case status and look into its
status online and also update any important info as when needed. The system also consists of
a suspect prediction algorithm.

Modules’ Description:
 Cop Account Module: This module allows station admin to add all cop details like name,
address, designation, into the system. This can also edit or modify. Admin is the main
user of the system. Cops can login to the system by entering user name and password.

 Location Module: This module helps admin to store state, city records. Even admin can
add police station records for each station.

 Complainer Module: This module stores complainer profile details. Complainer needs to
register to the system. After the login complainer can file or lodge complaint in the
complaint section.

 Complaint Module: Any public members can file complaint through online by entering
Complaint reason, evidence, complaint details, complaint type, etc. Even police
department can file complaint from their account if anyone gives complaint directly by
visiting police station.

 FIR Module: If complaint is cognizable then it goes to FIR. This module enters details of
first investigation report (FIR).

 Charge Sheet Module: This module adds charge sheet details based on FIR.

 Legal Case Module: Once the investigation like FIR, Charge sheet completes, all the
details are submitted to the court. So the court hearing details will be added into the
system.

 Criminal Module: Once the court finalize the judgment it will be sent to the criminal
Records list.

 Criminal Module: This module send mail notifications to complaint registrar about
complaint registration details, FIR report, Charge sheet report, Legal case report, and
criminal report.

Limitations:
• The size of the database increases day-by-day, increasing the load on the database back up
and data maintenance activity.

• Training for simple computer operations is necessary for the users working on the system.

Future Enhancements:
• In future system will provide mail facility to members.

• Members can send mail to other stations.

• In future system will provide online live chat application.

• In future system will provide facility to send message related to crime to the peoples.
