A. Commentary on your Problem Tree Exercise (Group answer)

1. Based on your experience in doing the exercise, what do you think are the
advantages of the Problem Tree as a situational analysis tool?
The Problem Tree analysis serves as a valuable tool for diagnosing
complex problems and guiding efforts to address them in a systematic and
structured manner
2. Do you have other criticisms (positive or negative) on this analytical tool?
Oversimplification but when used appropriately and complemented with
other analytical tools and methodologies, the problem tree analysis can still be
a valuable tool for understanding complex problems and informing
decisionmaking.
B. Commentary on your Focal Transportation Problem (Group Answer)
Imagine that you are transport planners. As a form of synthesis or conclusion to your
analysis, what do you think are the critical problems (or cluster of problems) that
you would prioritize when asked to address your focal problem and why? What
would be your next step?
As transport planners, our top priorities would be fixing the technical
flaws in the transportation algorithm, ensuring it runs smoothly and accurately. We'd

also work on tightening regulations to make sure transportation systems meet high
safety and fairness standards. Improving training for operators and better
communication between teams would help catch and fix problems faster. We'd pay
attention to ethical concerns too, like making sure the algorithm doesn't favor certain
groups or invade people's privacy. Lastly, we'd focus on minimizing the financial and
social impacts of any issues.

and that we can solve transportation problems easily.
2. Now I know that enforcers are just doing their job to regulate traffic and the
transportation problem is enormous it cannot be solved easily without proper
understanding to the matter.
3. However, I am not sure how long will it take for the transportation problems
be solved.
4. I hope/plan to study the transportation problems in order for me to make a
