Introduction
Process precedes Goal.
Awareness precedes Attention.
Learning precedes Earning.
Counselling precedes Empowerment
Good morning and JAI JAGAT
I would like to welcom our Chief Guest Mr Alok Ranjan, repected
**Respected Founder Director sir and Maam, Senior Principals and
Principals of all the campuses, benevolent teachers and guardians and
the galaxy of stars – our current class 12ths. My name is Rashi Ahuja
Dixit and as the Senior Career Counsellor I am privileged to flag off the
engaging, informative and thought-provoking Career and College
Counselling segment of the ISC MERITORIOUS STUDENT Felicitation
function .
In today’s time where Career and college counselling has become a
mandate under many state and National boards, City Montessori
School has been a torch bearer where there was a career counselling
wing as early as 2013. And now there is a full time career counsellor at
every isc campus. The counsellors work keenly with the student body
of ICSE and ISC to ensure that students are aware of and can access the
kaleidoscope of profile building and career opportunities available for
our CMS students
Career and college counselling is the need of the hour because just as
there are a plethora of career options available to our students with
the advent of web3.0 there are even more careers that are becoming
obsolete. A career counsellor has to Match the student’s aim, skills,
interests, aptitude to the megatrends of the industry, but that is truly
the tip of the iceberg- because they also have to counsel, mentor and
guide the students to ensure they find lifelong success in their chosen
paths. In today’s era of POST-TRUTH, seeing is no longer believing,
students have to be counselled to make their career choices based on
REAL information. The Career counsellors provide the current students
with the valuable connect to the CMS Alumni network to ensure they
receive trusted guidance .
In our next segment we see the students who have benefitted from
this counselling service and secured seats in top universities and
careers. I now invite Mr. Shashank Srivastava to come on stage to
present the segment “Footprints- The Legacy of CMS Students” let us
invite our career clll coordinator
MC (Rashi) – Time-4mins - Introduce the Career counselling cell/ counselling in today’s time
importance/ India and abroad career counselling advocacy.
Plan and write content.

Introduce the next segment.

Segment 1 – Footprints- The Legacy of CMS Students

MC- Thank you Mr Shashank for that truly engaging segment.
CMS students are truly traversing the globe and holding the
principles of CMS high as they achieve the pinnacle of success.
Seeing these stories makes me wonder what is the journey of a
counsellor and student ..what do they go through when they are
planning for the future. How does the counsellor help the student in
spreading their wings before flying high.
And to answer all this and more we have our next segment Podcast
with Mrs Anshoo Mishra and her mentees Ms Anaika ***** and
Mr Bhuwan Jaiswal. Lets welcome them with an encouraging
round of applause.

Segment 2 – Podcast

Segment 3 – Case Studies

Dear Principals, Teachers and students- as we all sit here we all

share something in common. Yes we are all part of the CMS family
– but also we have all faced some life dilemas that were solved by
the sage advice of our seniors or parents or grandparents. Wernt
they our counsellors in finding the right and not the easy path!!
Our CMS counsellors are the same – they help the students in
navigating the difficult waters of choosing course, country, college
and career. In our next segment I bring to you 2 very unique case
studies of our students.
I start my first case study remembering the first time I met my
Student – lets call her Naini—Naini was a child that was always in a
hurry . a hurry to finish the conversation..a Hurry to finish class
12th, a hurry to reach her coaching, a hurry to accomplish all her
life goals—today! Then trying to do all and everything let her down
a path of confusion- not knowing where to focus. She used to visit
my office pretty often but I could see that there were heavy life
decisions weighing her down. After many sessions of mentorship
with Naini I realized that she was finding it tough to focus on her
studies as she was unable to manage her time between preparing for
college entrance exams and focusing on boards. I sat down with her
and we worked on a weekwise study schedule where she could see
measurable achievements in both the board and competitive exam
preparation. She was even able to manage her study schedule in
include preparation for Study Abroad. Naini, I am happy to tell you
didn’t just score more that 90% marks but also managed to secure
admission in Universities Abroad. I bring this case study to show
you that as a career counsellor we don’t just answer questions
related to college and career but we aim to provide insight to the
students regarding 360 degree Growth and Expanding Horizons,
being Industry Ready and understanding Demands of the Future.
We help them with Efficient Exam Prepration and Planning Before
Selection and finally Envisioning their Life Path.

Speaking of Life Path I would like to start my next Case study with
a quote—“Sometimes the right life path is not the easiest one” . Let
me paint you a word picture—think of the hard working students in
your class—Teachers go back to the time you were the student –
who was the hard working student in your class? Now take this
student’s efforts and multiply in by maybe 10 .. this is what defines
the student I am talking about. Lets call him Akshay. Akshay was
preparing to crack JEE Advanced and also hoping to be ISC
national topper and also wanted to seek admissions to leading
universities abroad. Let me give you the spoiler here and now—he
managed to do all three. The question is how – Via lots and lots of
hard work , by burning the midnight oil but in a careful and
planned manner. He seeked out his subject teachers advice and as
we all know the subject teachers are the first access career
counsellors for most students. He sat down with me and made an
exact time line of the Form deadlines for universities abroad and
Exam dates for IELTS and JEE. He planned every hour of his day
and stayed motivated . He was consistent- This was tough but he
managed to achieve it via his sheer unwavering focus on future.
Akshay started receiving his admission offer letters for universities
abroad by December. But this did not shake his focus on JEE
preparation. He kept preparing for his JEE Advanced also. He
cracked his Jee Mains in January and set his sights on getting a
perfect score in Boards. After Boards he focused on his JEE
advanced and achieved laurels in both.
Akshay is an example of how the most challenging times in our life
can be overcome with hard work, guidance and time management

I now conclude my session with a quote by Former Przi of India

and The missile man of India- Dr APJ Abdul Kalam—You have to
dream Before your dreams can come true.
And it was truly a dream envisioned by our Founder Sir and Maam
And Respected Geeta Maam that career counselling services be
available to all the students of CMS. It is their dream that we at the
Career and College Cell Aim to covert into a reality. Each Minute
of hour of Each day we aim to work towards the vision of our
founders and management.. filling the students horizons with
various sessions, alumni engagements and professional outreach.
Lets welcome Ms Sonu and Ms Nupur to take the dias and present
to you the the next segment- The Year at Career Cell. Please
welcome them as they join us to share the ins and out of the annual
activities at our career cell.

the right path b)Success=hardwork+consistency

studies – motivational quotes.

Segment 4 – The Year at Career Cell- 2022-23?

Segment - Honoring the Study Abroad Admissions

MC – Career counselling –you have heard so much about it today.

Yet I feel words fall short to measure the impact and importance of
it in the life of students. As the job market evolves and technology
advances, Career counsellors of City Montessori School adapt by
using new tools, developing new skills, regular upskilling and
embracing new approaches to provide students with the best
possible advice.
Before we bid adieu to our stellar students, on behalf of the career
counsellors of CMS we would like to thank Ms Chanda Kundra,
head of Career and College Counselling Cell for providing us with
invaluable guidance and mentoring. Even though she isn’t present
here with us today, this segment would not have been possible with
out her.

Keeping up with CMS tradition of endeavouring to provide

updated details of all exams to the students , we request Ms Roma
Bacchchani to come and share with our class 12th students the
intricacies and updates of the Common University Entrance Test or
