customer engagement and flow within the store.
PART A: DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

2. Revise & Refine: Experiment with the following modelling techniques to refine your
3D concept models.
Include screenshots and explanations of each listed point:

a. Apply and manipulate design elements and principles

For this step, I applied various design elements and principles such as balance, rhythm,
emphasis, and unity to refine the 3D concept models. For example, I ensured that there
was a balance of visual weight in each space by distributing furniture and architectural
elements evenly. I also created rhythm by repeating certain design elements throughout
the space, such as consistent patterns or shapes. Additionally, I emphasized focal points
in each design to draw attention to key features or areas of importance. Finally, I
ensured that all elements worked together cohesively to create a sense of unity in the
overall design.

b. Integrate modular systems, repeats and advanced 3D geometry into spatial

configurations

To refine the 3D concept models, I integrated modular systems and repeats to optimize
spatial configurations for efficiency and flexibility. For example, in the office space
design, I used modular furniture systems that could be easily rearranged to
accommodate different work patterns or team sizes. Additionally, I incorporated repeats
of certain design elements, such as lighting fixtures or decorative accents, to create
visual coherence throughout the space. Furthermore, I experimented with advanced 3D
geometry techniques to add complexity and interest to architectural elements or
furniture designs, such as using parametric modeling to create unique shapes or forms.
PART A: DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

2. c. Explore and manipulate scale, volume and proportion

I explored and manipulated scale, volume, and proportion to achieve

optimal spatial relationships and visual harmony. For instance, I
adjusted the scale of furniture pieces to fit within the proportions of
each room and ensure comfortable ergonomics for users. I also
manipulated volume by experimenting with different ceiling heights or
spatial configurations to create dynamic and engaging environments.

d. Apply materials & textures accurately and to scale

I used high-resolution texture maps to simulate realistic materials such

as wood, metal, or fabric for furniture and architectural elements. I also
ensured that the scale of textures was appropriate for the size of each
surface, maintaining realism and avoiding visual distortion.
Additionally, I experimented with different material finishes and surface
treatments to add depth and visual interest to the design, such as
matte vs. glossy surfaces or rough vs. smooth textures.

e. Construction, detailing and finishes are resolved

In the final refinement stage, I focused on resolving construction

details and finishes to ensure the integrity and completeness of the 3D
concept models. This involved adding fine details such as trim,
molding, hardware, and fixtures to architectural elements and furniture
pieces to enhance realism and functionality. I also paid attention to the
junctions and connections between different elements, ensuring
seamless transitions and structural integrity.
PART A: DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

3. Meet with your group, seek and record feedback: Pia`s Feedback

● Feedback: Add more textures, make the staircase a focal point, use concrete for flooring, add a brick accent wall, and integrate wood for warmth.
● Actionable Steps: Gather inspiration images, experiment with textures, focus on the staircase design, implement concrete flooring, add a brick wall, and incorporate wood elements strategically.

Problem 2: Transitional Spaces - Office Space

● Feedback: Increase variety, use lighter materials, refine finishes, and pay attention to details.
● Actionable Steps: Remove one modular working space, create an informal meeting area, experiment with lighter materials, and refine finishes for a polished look.

Problem 3: Thresholds - Retail Store - Nike Brand

● Positive Feedback: Praise for the inviting facade, encourage brand integration, suggest diversifying color schemes, and optimizing display placement.
● Actionable Steps: Maintain the inviting facade, integrate Nike's brand identity, experiment with colors, and strategically place displays.

a. Continuously refine and develop your design solutions based on feedback gained through experimentation and spatial modelling.

Throughout the design process, I continuously refined and developed my design solutions based on feedback received from experimentation and spatial modeling. I iteratively
adjusted elements such as layout, furniture placement, materials, and lighting to address any identified issues or enhance the overall quality of the design. By actively incorporating
feedback and iterating on the design, I ensured that the final solutions were well-suited to meet the project requirements and user needs.
PART A: DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

3. Meet with your group, seek and record feedback

b. Document and reflect on each development of the model, highlighting the changes and improvements

I meticulously reflected on each development of the model, ensuring that changes and improvements were properly documented and understood. This documentation
included keeping track of design iterations, noting feedback received from stakeholders or peers, and detailing the rationale behind each modification. By maintaining a
comprehensive record of the design process, I was able to track progress, evaluate the effectiveness of changes, and make informed decisions moving forward.

c. Develop detailed and fully resolved design solutions using the selected modeling techniques, considering spatial arrangements, materiality, lighting, and other relevant
factors.

I utilized selected modeling techniques to create detailed and fully resolved designs that addressed all relevant factors, including spatial arrangements, materiality, lighting,
and more. I carefully considered the functionality and usability of each space, ensuring that spatial arrangements were optimized to support the intended activities and user
interactions. Additionally, I paid close attention to material choices, selecting appropriate finishes and textures to enhance the aesthetic appeal and tactile experience of the
design. Lighting was strategically planned to create ambiance, highlight key features, and provide adequate illumination for various tasks.
