1. Data Synchronization (via Intellisync)


You may use Data Synchronization utility to transfer Excel files on your desktop to BlackBerry handheld and vice versa. Data Synchronization utility supports Excel 2000 compliant file format. The synchronization is done via local connectivity (USB or Serial port) which supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Follow the following step-by-step instructions for installation guide and usage guide.

1.1. Data Synchronization Setup Guide


1. Install Java Runtime 1.4 or later. You can download the Java Runtime free from Sun Java web site 2. Double click datasync-installer.exe file and follow the instructions to install the software. Note: datasync-installer.exe file is included in miniexcel_bb2.zip, you can download the file from http://www.simprit.com/download.html. See the following installation wizard screen:

3. Launch BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double click Intellisync icon to activate Intellisync dialog. You will see the following screen:

4. Check the Execute Add-in actions checkbox. 5. Click the Configure Add-ins button. See the following screen:

Check the MiniExcel DataSync add-in module to complete the setup process.

1.2. Using Data Synchronization


1. Connect your handheld to your computer. Make sure MiniExcel is not running. 2. Open the desktop manager and double click the Intellisnyc icon. 3. Click the Synchronize now button. Make sure the Execute Add-in actions checkbox is checked. You shall see the following screen:

4. Wait for a short while, Data Synchronization process is communicating with BlackBerry handheld. After a while, you shall see the following screen appears:

You can change workbook path by clicking ... button and choose a folder that contains your Excel workbooks. The table list will update according to refresh Excel sheets in the workbook path. 5. You can change the synchronization action for each sheet in the list. There are three types of action: Do Not Change, PC to Device and Device To PC. When you're done, click the Synchronize button to start the synchronization process. 6. Once the synchronization process is finished, go to the workbook folder or launch MiniExcel on your BlackBerry handheld to access the data.
