LESSON PLAN

CLASS- 9th SUBJECT- Physics

NAME OF THE CHAPTER- MOTION
TIME-
OBJECTIVES- Understanding the concepts of motion, speed, velocity, and
acceleration, the concepts of distance and displacement and Differentiating between
distance and displacement, differentiating between speed and velocity

GIST OF THE LESSON- Motion is when an object changes its position over
time. An object is in motion if its position changes in relation to its
surroundings over a given time. An object is at rest if its position in relation to
its surroundings doesn't change

MATERIAL REQUIRED- TLM, BOOK, CHALK AND BOARD, SOME

OHTERS TOOLS FOR ACTIVITY.

METHODOLOGY- ASK STUDENTS TO PREDICT, ENQUIRY BASED PRACTICAL

DEMONSTRATIONS

PLANNED ACTIVITY/PROJECT- ACCORDING TO NCERT BOOK THAT IS GIVEN.

ASKING QUESTION- .
 What is the slope of the body when it moves with uniform velocity?
 What is the position time graph for a body at rest?
 What does an area velocity time graph give?
 What is positive and negative slope?
 How will the equations of motion for an object moving with a uniform velocity change?

ICE BREAKER ACTIVITY- ACTIVITY AND MY TLM, DAILY BASIS OR

FUNDAMENTAL ACTIVITY.

REFERENCE- ALL ACTIVITY MENTIONED ABOVE.

ICT- SMART CLASS

STUDENT’S ACTIVITY- Find the speed of different motions

Students act out motions like walking, running, hopping, crawling, speed walking, high knees, or
butt kickers, and then find the speed of each

Ball down a ramp

Students can use this activity multiple times, looking at different motions each time

Catch the bag

Students stand on two separate carts, and one student is given a bag of sand and plays catch with
the bag

Measure the distance between two opposite corners of a basketball ground

Students walk through a corner of the ground and compare it with the displacement

ART INTEGRATED ACTIVITY- Nail tamping, tug-of-war, bat, and ball: Students
apply and learn different types of force through these activities
Newtonian toy: Students design a toy using waste materials that describes any one or
more laws of motion
Carom coins: Students try to hit the bottom coin with a sharp horizontal flick using
another carom coin or the striker
.
ASSESSMENT- Average speed: Calculate the average speed of a car that travels 50
km in 2 hours
Displacement: What is the displacement of a person who jogs in a circular park and
completes one round?
Uniform motion: Is the motion of a car an example of uniform motion?
Acceleration: Derive the equation of motion v = u + at using graphical method

LEARNING OUTCOME- UNDERSTANDING OF EACH TOPICS WITH

GENERAL COMPETANCY BASED ACTIVITY AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE.

SELF EVALUATION- To check understanding of these terms-

Motion along a straight line, Uniform and non-uniform motion
Speed, Rate of change of velocity, Graphical representation of motion, Equations
of motion, Uniform circular motion.
