1.1 Preparation
Caution!
When measuring small samples, wires, foils, etc. it is important
to choose the correct method, which can be identified by the
extension “–SP” after the name.

Remove the previous spark
stand plate
Loosen the electrode. It will
be pushed up by a spring.
Fasten the electrode. It is
now used to center the
spark stand plate for small
samples correctly.
Mount the new spark stand
plate; do not forget the O-
ring
Adjust the electrode gap
with the electrode spacer
(1) for small parts.
1.2 Small sample adapter
Put the sample onto the
spark stand and fix it with
the plastic holder for small
parts.

The plastic holder is
transparent to make sure
that the sample is still
centered.
Fix the sample and holder
with the special clamp (1)

Slide the protection cover
on
The spark generates UV
radiation. Therefore do not
measure without the
protection cover when the
spark stand opening is not
fully covered.
Lower the sample clamp to
close the safety circuit.
1.3 Foil adapter
Put the sample onto
the spark stand.
Lay the foil adapter on
top. It will dissipate the
heat.

1.4 Wire adapter
The wire adapter has
two grooves for wires
with different
diameters.
Fix the sample and
holder with the special
clamp (1)
Lower the sample
clamp to close the
safety circuit.
