6. Criteria for Design & Selection of Pipe materials (As per 70 & 80 - Technical Scrutiny Committee (TSC)

* Efficiency of pump set—80%, ( combined )


* Cost of pumping unit — Rs. 17000/ KW.
* Electrical Energy charges — Rs. 5/ Unit
* “C” value DI- 130, MS- 130, HDPE-140, PVC-140, GRP-145, AC-120
* Peak factor 1.5 for distribution network.
In Gravity main system
* PVC pipes may be utilized up to 200 mm dia.
* HDPE pipes may be utilized up to 110 mm dia.
* HDPE / AC pipes may be utilized up to 200 to 450 mm dia.
* DI / MS Metallic pipes may be utilized for dia 450 mm and above.
In Rising main system
* HDPE pipe may be utilized up to 50 mt head and sizes from 90 mm to 110 mm remaining. And rema
* Design of treatment plant should be based on m3/hr and working hours of filter should be 22 hours.
* Pumping hours – 22 Hrs ( for raw water pumping machinery )
* –20 hrs ( for rising main from main HW to Sub HW )
* --12 to 16 hrs ( for Sub HW to Service point )
