Subject: Statement Of Purpose for Hospitality Management
Respected Sir/Madam
I would like to introduce myself as Aman Kumar Nehra S/o of Satyawan Singh Nehra & Sudesh
Devi, R/o Nehra 81, PO Amargarh, Jin Haryana, India. I wish to enroll in Advanced Hospitality
Management and program in Cambria College, Vancouver, BC, Canada. One of the reasons to
study hospitality management is because it offers great career opportunities for anyone who
wants to get involved in the world of hospitality sector. I have deep interest in this field and
want to study further to get a bright career ahead.
Educational Qualification :
Moving onto my academic background I have been a studious, Laborious taking keen interest in
all my subjects not to score well but to enhance my knowledge. I am a student with great
enthusiasm towards my areas of learning, possessing good grasping power, communication
skills.
I completed my matriculation in 2015 from Sanatan Dharam Public School affiliated to Central
Board of School Education and attained 8.6 CGPA &
completed my higher Secondary education (Non-Medical) in 2017 from Sanatam Dharam Public
School with 77% percentage of marks but I was not satisfied with my marks, so, I reappeared
again in Mathematics and English in 2018 and I got 84.4% marks.
Following that, I enrolled into Kurukshetra University for undergraduate program Bachelor of
Arts and completed it with 65% marks in 2021.
Being a regular student of C.B.S.E Board since my pre-nursery education i never experienced any
hurdle to participate and win discussion and debate and by dint of this I appeared for IELTS
exam and scored Overall Bands in IELTS is 6.0 and in each module; I scored Listening-6.5,
Reading-6.0, Writing-6.0 and Speaking-5.5.
Family Background
I feel truly blessed to have such a supporting family that stood up for me in every sort of
circumstances, including myself we are four members in my family. My father Mr Satyawan
Singh Nehra has thoroughly guided me in every phase of my life. He is an agriculturist. My
mother Mrs. Sudesh Devi has always been a great support for me. She is a home-maker. I have
one younger sibling- a brother Ankush. He is also a student. My family has always encouraged
and supported me to take decisions of my life. My parents are subsidizing for my entire study in
Canada.
Why I Choose Canada For Study ?
There is no denying that there are many institutions available in my country such as the RIG
Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Gurgaon, Guru Nanak Dev University in
Amritsar, and Subhash Bose Institute of Hotel Management which is located in Kolkata and so on.
Firstly one has to clear the entrance exams which is a quite tough job due to the limited number of
seats in such Moreover, in India reservation system is followed for admissions so that’s why my
chances of getting admission were quite low. Secondly, the course curriculum is quite different
from the curriculum of Canadian colleges and universities. Moreover, In Canada, the approach of
teaching is practical along with the use of the latest techniques and updated syllabus which makes
the student industry-ready graduate and this increases the chances of a fresh graduate to be a part
of one of the leading organizations of the world. Even the modes of delivering education are well
furnished as the latest technologies are being used to impart education to the students such as
smart classes equipped with projectors or other audio-visual aids and so on.
Moreover while studying in my home country I cannot get the benefits that can be gained while
studying abroad such as international exposure which would add extra weight to my resume to get
good jobs in future. Secondly, by studying in an English speaking country I can improve my
communication skills. Last but not the least, the value and recognition of an international degree
due to the latest business techniques and understanding of the advanced economy are always
higher than a local degree especially in one of the most emerging markets like India today. Hence
internationally qualified candidates are always preferred comparatively. Due to all these merits of
overseas education, I have decided to have an international degree rather a domestic one. Canada
is the only country that has implemented some educational acts which reserve the rights of
international students.
What prompted me to select Cambria College for my higher study?
Cambria College is established at Vancouver Canada. Vancouver is well known for its international
atmosphere, where one will hardly feel like stranger. So, for sure as a student, I will be able to
experience a friendly and welcoming environment. Moreover, Vancouver is considered as an
industrial hub which will be helpful in getting a successful career after post-graduation. It has
campus in Victoria and Surrey.
It welcomes international students from diverse culture and also has respect for them. Staff and
students are really eager to learn and grow together. College focuses on providing best learning
experience, also develop supportive relationships with instructors to feel truly understood. It
provides manageable programs and small class batches allowing students to engage and
participate in discussions for enhancing student success.
Keeping my goal and target in my mind, Cambria College seems to be an excellent and brilliant
place for carrying my career ahead to its peak as doing a qualification at an international level will
carry more weight-age. Not only I will be able to enrich my conceptual, but also my pragmatic
skills, required to sustain oneself in the outside professional world.
Cambria college offers the best atmosphere for a student to develop skills and come out as a
legitimate professional. I soon discovered what my career path should be and decided to work on
my skills to improve my own potential to be carve out a successful future in it.
Why Hospitality Management
I am applying to study the Diploma of Hospitality Management leading to Advanced Diploma of
Hospitality Management in Cambria College, Vancouver, Canada. I have deep interest in this field
and want to improve my skills for better future prospects. As the hospitality industry
(accommodation and food service) is the seventh-largest employer in Canada. This field share
educational parallels and focuses on all aspects of hospitality operations including hotels,
restaurants, cruise, ships, amusement parks, destination marketing organizations, convention
centers, country clubs and many more. Hospitality Management refers to the application of
management concepts and structured leadership in the areas of accommodation, dining and
general guest services. From the largest hotels to the smallest cafeterias, all such businesses form
an important part of the hospitality industry. The knowledge and skills acquired through the
program is essential and useful for me in hospitality management. With the international degree ,
I would be able to achieve my goal. I will have an opportunity to polish these skills and use them
in a better way through this degree.

I am sure that I will acquire advance knowledge and training during my study which would open
new skyline for my career in hospitality management. Hospitality careers are not like a never
ending vacation. With the international degree I would be able to achieve my goal. The scope of
hospitality in India is very wide as more tourists visit in India, so this industry is growing very
rapidly. There many hotels like Taj, The Lalit and also the JW Marriot has tied up many travel
companies which means there are many job opportunities in this field. As a graduate of this course,
I will be recognized as a professional degree in hospitality management. I can get handsome salary
approx. 4-5 Lakhs annually. Most of the companies are looking for individuals having international
degrees and I will have many great career opportunities ahead me after completing course.
Conslusion :
I am convinced that the program will prepare me for pursuing a successful career in the field of
hospitality management. I have also paid GIC 10,000 CAD as my living expenses and I also have
sufficient funds to pay for my second year tuition fees.
The further procedures for the completion of my application and securing admission require
obtaining student Visa for Canada. I am looking forward to that. I request you to pursue my
