Task 5

1. A particular color can be perceived in different ways depending on the color it is


placed next to.
2. A surface that looks red under white light will be perceived as orange if
illuminated by yellow light, for example.
3. The type of off press processing (postpress) you'll be doing in phase eight
might determine what paper you need to use in the original design concept.
4. It is an important step in the process, as it is the last opportunity to check the
material and make any necessary changes.
5. Once the proofs are approved, it's time to make the printing plate that will be
used to strike the actual prints.

1. The color of the reflected light is affected by the color composition of the

Task 7

1. When light in the visible part of the spectrum hits our eyes, we perceive it as
white light.
# Light is an important factor in determining how the eye perceives colors.
2. The color you see is the result of the reflected wavelengths of light.
# The colors of the objects we see are, as mentioned earlier, the result of the light reflected
off those objects.
3. The eye is more sensitive to tonal variations in light areas than in dark.
# A single color may be perceived as two totally different colors when placed next to
different shades.
4. Metamerism is when two colors that are not actually the same appear the same
under certain lighting conditions.
# There is also the situation in which two colors that look identical in particular light
become completely different in another light.
5. Neutral white is found in the middle between warm and cool white light. On the
Kelvin scale, it’s around 4,000K.
# A normal, neutral lighting has a color temperature of about 5,000 K. This is
approximately the equivalent of daylight and is used as a reference light when viewing
images, proofs and prints.

Task 8

The differences between:


a/ Printing method: Any process to produce text and images using a master form or
template.
Printed products are grouped in the miscellaneous category. This includes wall paper,
wrapping paper, greeting cards, calendars, posters, periodicals (magazines, journals,
newspaper….). Generally, they are made by any printing methods relating to the
printing industry.
b/ Boiling water is the water which is being heated and becomes hotter and hotter.
Boiled water is the water which was already heated to the maximum temperature of
1000 C. It’s now not necessarily hot and maybe cool or cold.

c/ A burned house is the house that is now destroyed by fire while a burning house is
the house that is being caught fire.

d/ Incoming light is the light that falls into a surface. Reflected light is a bouncing ray
that comes off the surface of a material at an angle equal to the angle at which the
incoming ray hit the surface.

e/ Edited text is the text that has been corrected, or modified. Editing software is the
computer program used in word processing to change text by adding, deleting and
rearranging letters, words, sentences and paragraphs.
