construct tender, with 25 per cent reference design, is expected
to be released in mid 2024.
The tender for detailed design to upgrade and improve the flood
prone section on the Stuart Highway was released to market in
mid-September 2023 and closed in late October 2023. A design
consultancy contract is expected to be awarded in March 2024. Carpentaria Highway – detour construction at ch 60-70 km

The contractor has completed a number of large concrete


pours, two of which were completed after-hours. The
project will require about 15 additional concrete pours to
occur after-hours over the next 12 months. The pours
are planned early in the morning or late evening as low
ambient temperatures are required for the concrete to
set.
