METHODOLOGY:
“A little progress each day adds up to big results.”
This maxim about success puts emphasis for all candles
burnt by the learners not just to make their parents proud but also
for their future. Their countless sleepless nights and efforts that they
exert is for all the dreams they have for their future. This adage
also describes our promising learners. At a glance, you may see
them as little ruckuses playing and not taking seriously on their
studies. However, through the guidance of the affectionate
teachers of San Joaquin NHS – Manguino-o Annex, these learners
were given a clear path. Up until now, the significant progress of
these learners became the burning motivation of the teachers
that they are still educational heroes – instilling a love for learning.
The 1st Parents Meeting cum General Assembly was truly a day full
of surprises and reflections. At one side, all the learners’ sweats
and tears were sown with praises from their own parents,
guardians, teachers and even guests. This was their call to create
a pandemonium and say, “I did it!” Indeed, all those who visited
the school for this event were very merry because they could see
how the learners came from nothing to something. Or, even if
their learners got significant low grades, they can still iterate, “2%
is not 0%.”
Of course, the day started with a simple program with a
song for country delivered first. A morning praise to God followed
and was given by the GPTA President, Mrs. Yolanda L. Montimor.
Then, the DepEd Calbayog Hymn was sung. Thereafter, to
replenish everyone else’s body and mind, a hataw-bayan
followed. To check the parents’ hundred percent participation
on the significant activity of the school, Mrs. Jennylyn S. Tayab,
School’s Registrar, don a checking of attendance.
After all generic parts of the program were done, two (w)
imperative persons from the barangay gave their heartfelt
message for all parents and guardian. Hon. Rolando A. Abela, Sr.,
Committee Chair on Education emphasized how vital education
is to their learner and how grateful he is too to see they
unwavering commitment of parents/guardian for their learners
through his inspirational message. On the other hand, the
barangay captain, Hon. Merline L. Yangzon, reminded the crowd
that although they are very intent about the success of their
learners, still they must follow to the IATF protocols standardized
by the local LGU to battle the unforeseen enemy – the pandemic.
Also, to give the stakeholders and the concerned
parents/guardian about the general health of the school, the
school head of San Joaquin NHS-Manguino-o Annex, Mrs. Sonia
C. Cupla, gave her warm words of welcome and State of the
School’s Address (SOSA) to the parents/guardian, teachers, and
guests.
The next part of the program focused on the program
proper which involves two agendas – bayanihan act and release
of report cards. The bayanihan act of the parents though helping
the school transfer the pledged soil of one of its donors for the
elevation of the Grade 7 and Grade 8 rooms will cater in bringing
a more conducive environment for the benefit of the learners.
Likewise, release of report cards is imperative as well to
communicate to the parents the status of their learners and
addressing gaps and issues foreseen.
At the end, there was a healthy conversation on everyone
during the general assembly. The day proceeded further through
various feedback giving, recommendations and ways forward
between the parents/guardians, teachers and the school head.
It ended with the school head giving her parting message for all.
