Tables Graphs and Expressions

The document provides information about tables, graphs, expressions, and linear patterns. It discusses how to graph tables of values by plotting the term and term value as ordered pairs on a coordinate plane. It introduces the four quadrants of the Cartesian plane and provides examples of linear patterns represented by tables, graphs, and algebraic expressions. Key terms discussed include the x-axis, y-axis, origin, coordinates, slope, and variable.

Battle Ship coordinate
Game
Plot your ships and list the ordered pairs for each
ship under the "My Ship" section.
Guess ordered pairs where you think your partner,
the enemy, may have a ship.
If you are correct, plot it on the enemy ship
coordinate plane.
If you are incorrect, it becomes your partner's turn.
Once you believe you found an entire enemy ship,
write the enemy ship ordered pairs for the ship.
First person to find all of the enemy ships wins!
Cartesian Plane: y
Quadrant II:
positive y values
negative x values Quadrant I:
Up until this point you have positive x & y
been graphing on coordinate values
planes. Now we are going to
start using cartesian planes.
The x-axis and y-axis intersect
perpendicular to each other at the
x
point called the origin.
The ordered pair for the origin is
(0, 0).
The cartesian plane is divided into
4 quadrants. Quadrant IV:
