A. Reviewing previous lesson

When you were in grade 3 you have a lesson about this. Let us review!
Direction: Put the correct picture of ray, dot, line, line segment, ray

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson.

Before we proceed to the next lesson look at the pictures on the board.
What can you say about these pictures.
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 1

How to draw the kinds of lines?
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2

F. Developing mastery

Group Activity (10-15 minutes)

Before we proceed to the next activities, what are the standards in group activity?
Group 1- “Name Us”
Name the pair of lines being described by each statement.
1. We are lines that intersect each other.
2. We are lines that intersect and form a right angle.
3. We are lines which do not meet or intersect even when extended.

Group 2: “Lines on Grid”

Group 3: “Draw Me”

1. Draw 2 parts of your house which show parallel lines.
2. Draw 2 objects in your bag which show perpendicular lines.
3. Draw 2 objects in the garden which show intersecting lines

Group 4: Match
Match the letter each kinds of line on its name.

a. Intersecting lines
b. Perpendicular lines
c. Parallel lines

Group 5: ” Identify Me”

G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living.
Using real objects inside the classroom show the
following ratio
Using real objects inside the classroom show the
following ratio
Direction: Go around the room and spot the different kinds of lines present in our room or
building.
Example: corner of the blackboard has perpendicular line.
window railings has intersecting lines
televisions and board has parallel lines
H. Making generalization and abstraction about the lesson

.
How do the kinds of lines differ from one another?

Parallel lines – lines that do not intersect.

Intersecting lines – lines that meet or intersect at a point.
Perpendicular lines – lines that intersect and form right angles (angles measuring 900).

I. Evaluating learning

Write "parallel", "perpendicular" or "intersecting" below each pair of lines.

J. Additional Activities

Using the different kinds of lines, make a design of a house that cannot be easily
destroyed by a typhoon.
